To become an IAS officer you need to crack the UPSC civil services exam which is conducted every year and the eligiblity for the exam is:

* you have passed your graduation from recognized university.

* Age limit for it is:
1.for general 21-30 yrs

2.for obc 21-33 yrs

3.for sc/st 21-35 yrs..

Helli dear user,

See as you said you have completed your B.A (no matters when) so you have got the qualification requirment perfectly. But here you will have to worry about age limit as there are some rules for this exam. I would like to enlighten some more info regardin IAS.

in order to becom an IAS officer you have to crack an entrance exam called Civil Srvice Examination which is conducted by UPSC once in every year in the month of may.

However there is an age limit for the candidate to sit in the exam as follows-

If yau belongs to a generol category then for you the age limit - 21 to 30 years.

For OBC category 3 years of relaxation are given by the law of india thats means the age limit for OBC category are- 21 to 33 years.

For SC/ST category 5 years of relaxation are given that mens the age limit is - 21 to 35 years.

You have to match this requirement then only you can write the exam.

Best of luck

To become an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer, you will have to qualify for the Civil Service Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Now, to be considered eligible for civil service examination, you must be within the specified age limit, no matter when you have finished you graduation.
The minimum age for civil service examination is 21 years old and maximum age is 30 years. For candidates belonging to OBC category, the maximum age limit for civil service examination is 33 years and for the candidates of SC / ST category, the maximum age is 35 years.
Since you did your graduation, you'll be sure considered for civil service examination provided you are within the age limit set by the Union Public Service Commission.

For notification of Civil Service Examination and other details, refer to the official website of Union Public Service Commission.
