My friend you have plenty of job opportunities in the government sector after completing Electronics and Communication Engineering. The jobs related to engineers in the government sector are provided by Public Sector Undertaking and Indian Engineering Service. First lets begin with PSU jobs. There are more than 250 Public Sector Undertakings. These basically are the companies where government owns at least 51 percent stake which is necessary to keep control. These PSUs conducts entrance exam to for the engineers. If you want job in any of these companies then it would be important to appear for the exam. Normally the exam has two stages: 1) Written Test 2) Interview But lately some companies have scrapped written test in favor of GATE exam. Now they consider the score of GATE exam when a candidate apply for the job. This makes it absolutely important to appear for the GATE entrance exam. Eligibility 1. B.Tech degree should be completed from a recognized university. 2. At least 60 percent marks in Engineering. 3. There is some relaxation for SC/ST/OBC. 4. A valid GATE score is also required. 5. Age limit to apply for job in 21 to 30 years. 6. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 7. SC/ST candidates need 5 years relaxation. List of PSU Coal India ISRO GAIL DRDO SAIL NALCO HAL HPCL BPCL BHEL IOCL BEL NTPC ONGC Indian Engineering Service The second option for you is Indian Engineering Service Exam. This is also conducted for the government jobs. There are requirements of Engineers in various departments of the central government for which the candidates are recommended by Union Public Service Commission through IES entrance exam. Eligibility 1. Candidate should be Indian citizen. 2. You must have completed B.Tech ECE from a recognized university. 3. Final year students can also apply. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. Three years relaxation for OBC. 6. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation. |

You can get into PSUs like-NTPC,IOCL,ONGC,SAIL,COAL INDIA,BHEL,BEL,GAIL (India) Limited,Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited,Oil India Limited,ECIL,DRDO. You can get jobs in telecom sector companies like Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited,Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited. You can also join Indian Army,Navy,Air Force. You can get into Indian Railways,Metro Rail Cooperation and Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited. You can find jobs as clerks and officers in various NAtionalized Banks. You can also join ISRO and NPCIL. You can also become IAS,IPS or IFS officer. |
