Dear Friend,

NET Stands for National Eligibility Test.

The University Grants Commission conducts the NET Exam every year in the months of June and December for the recruitment of candidates for the posts of JRF and lectureship.

As you have completed your M.Com you are absolutely eligible for the NET Exam.

The Qualifications that you should have to be eligible to appear in the NET Exam is a post graduation degree in any stream from any recognized university.

Also , you must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in post graduation because if you have marks less than 55% in post graduation , then you will not be eligible for the NET exam.

Also , if you want to apply for the post of JRF , then your age should lie in between 21-28 years other wise there is no age bar for this exam if applying for the post of lecture ship.

You must be an Indian National .

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Re: Eligibility criteria to do NETSET after M.Com?

NET and SET are for Lecturership and Junior Research Fellowships for those who have a Post Graduate Degree with 55 % marks. For SC/ST 50 % marks in required.

Hence if you have completed M.Com. with above percentage then definitely you will be eligible for NET and SET examination.

NET is a National Level exam and SET is a State level examination.

There is no age limit for Lecturership but age limit is there for Junior Research Fellowship.

The NET and SET examination will be in the subject in which you have done your Post Graduation.

So revise everything that you have studied in your Post Graduation because the questions will be from that syllabus.

Why cant a student scoring less than 55% apply for NET/ SET exam if he/ she is interested in teaching profession.
What are the other strems to become a lecturer...
If there is not other way then make it a point that the student scoring less than 55% as fail so that they can try for good score for your criteria...
