Hi

Its very good to see your keen interest in the Public Sector Banks. They are indeed a very nice career to shape and offer the best offers, pay packages, benefits, and career growth opportunities. Hereby I am going to provide you with the appropriate information which you need about the jobs in Public Sector Banks.

IBPS - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

This is the Organization which holds and organizes and conducts Entrance Exam on behalf of the 20 Public Sector banks for their recruitment purposes. And according to latest news it would also hold Common Interview and then finally shortlist candidates based on their performance in both the written test and Interview/GD/PI.

The first thing to know about Banking Recruitment is about the posts in which you can take entry. They are :
Clerical
Probationary Officer
Specialist Officer

Now IBPS conducts different exams for these three posts year round. So you have to apply accordingly. Now I am going to list the BASIC ELIGIBILITY Criteria's which prevail for any candidate to take part in these exams :-

->> You should be a minimum GRADUATE as on (1-01-2013) from a recognized University or college from the Central Government.
->> You must have scored atleast 55% for the Clerical entry and more than 60% aggregate for the PO/SO Entries.
->> Your age should be within limits - 20-28 years. However some relaxations are provided for the reserved castes and people.
->> You should also have Computer Literacy. Should also be a citizen of India.

These are the Basic Criteria's however you have to go through the Notifications which have detailed criteria's. The paper for this exam consists of 200 questions which are to be done in 120 minutes i.e 2 Hours. They have four sections :-

Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General English, General Awareness, Marketing and Computer Knowledge. So you have to prepare equal in all of these as sectional cut off are to be cleared for successful qualification.

Next there are two more banks, SBI and RBI. These are not the ones which recruit through the IBPS and instead conduct their own Entrances for all the Posts themselves. Recently the SBI has released Notification for the PO 2013. You can Apply Here.

Click Here to visit the IBPS Website.

Please Note that all the criteria's and Paper pattern is almost same. But in PO a round GD/PI is also there. And apart from that 200 marks paper, then also have a Descriptive 50 marks paper as well. So its out of 250 marks for the posts of PO.

Hope this helps
All the best
Regards
