Some times the gaps may create problem in private companies. To cross the problem you should have good communication skills and good academics marks.
If the recruiter asked particularly why this gap tell to them some reason i discountinued or tell some financial problem.
There is no chance than these.Don't worry maximum govt companies won't ask any gaps.

Hi

If you have taken gaps after 10th, and 12th it means that you have 2 discontinuities in your academic career.

--> See, first of all every company asks for a first class career i.e a student who has scored a minimum 60% aggregate throughout his/her career in 10th, 12th as well as the graduation.

--> Next they also say, that there should not be a gap of more than 1 year in the academic career.

--> Now to be very frank, this criteria varies from company to company. Like TCS allows 2 year gaps in between the academic years, but the Infosys allows only one year gap.

This is the difference from the private companies point of view.

--> Now If you wish to apply for the government sector, then they do not look for the gaps. Instead they require the candidate to sit fir in the age criteria.

--> So if you are in between the age 21-30 (21-33 for OBC and 21-35 for SC/ST) , then you can apply for all the government jobs like IAS, IPS, Civil Services, Indian Army, Navy etc, and the PSU's too after completion of your B.Tech.

==> So In a way, this is not going to affect your career much, provided that you do not go in those field where these matter. You can look for the government jobs, or after doing MBA you may apply for the private companies.

** Also note, that if you have valid reason for your gaps then many a times the HR's of the companies may consider your plea and recruit you.

So you just have to maintain a good academic result from now on so that you can have a plus point by your side.

All the best

Regards
