It is great that you are confident enough in scoring 90% of marks in your 10+2 which is very much required for all the candidates.

If you have confident in you, you can do anything. You can become IAS Officer also as you are expected to do.

As you are going to join B.Com course after 12th Commerce, this will also be an added advantage for you.

Here is the route map for you to become IAS Officer.

First, try to complete B.Com course successfully by gaining good subject knowledge and by securing good percentage of marks.

Start preparation for civil services exam which will let you to become IAS Officer from the very beginning of your 2nd year B.Com course.

Selection procedure for IAS would involve
Civil Services Aptitude Test
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

Not only for IAS, in order to join any civil service, this is the common selection procedure.

For Main Exam, you have to opt for one optional subject from the list of optional subjects that are available.

As you are going to do B.Com, you will be having Economics and Commerce subjects.

Try to select one subject between these 2 for main exam and gain in depth knowledge in that subject.

Wish you all the best.

How to become an IAS officer

I am really sorry but you cannot appear for the IAS Exam right now as you are only in your 12th standard..

To appear for the IAS Exam..more commonly known as the UPSC Civil Services Exam a candidate must have the following minimum eligibility criteria :-

>> you must be either a final year bachelor degree student or must have already completed your graduation from a recognized College..

>> you should not be any less than 21 years and must not be more than 30 years of age..

>> the upper age relaxation for OBC candidates is 3 years..

>> upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years..

>> the maximum number of attempts applicable per category is as follows :-
> general category - 4
> OBC category - 7
> SC/ST category - no limit

2 rounds to be conducted for the written exam :-

>> CSAT(Prelims) to test you on aptitude and GK..

>> Mains to test you on graduation subjects and English..

the competition is very intense and the seats are very limited so your preparation must be really good if you want to crack this exam..

These are some books which you might refer to for your preparations of the CSAT :-

You can visit http://upsc.gov.in to know more about the Civil Service s Exam..

Go through the syllabus and the paper pattern that I have attached for your reference..

all the best..

With Warm Regards

Re: How can I become an IAS officer while studying in 12th commerce

12th pass are not eligible to apply for IAS examination. You need to pass atleast Graduation if you want to become a IAS officer.

Graduation in Any discipline from a Recognised University are only eligible to apply.

Those who are in final year of Graduation and expecting there result in time are also eligible to apply for it.

But age must be according to the IAS norms means Age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are general category candidate.

There is age relaxation available for SC/ST, OBC , PWD and Ex Servicemen categories.

The number of attempts for General Category is 7 , for OBC it is 4 and for SC/ST there is no limit in attempts.

The selection is a three tier procedure:

-Civil Services Aptitude Test

-Civil Services Mains Exam

-Personal Interview

So get good marks in above examination and become an IAS officer.

As you are in 10+2 hence you must select the subjects in which you want to do graduation and start preparing for IAS exams.
