Re: Should I take separate coaching for CAT and GMAT or just prepare for CAT?

I have just finsihed my 2 with Bi.P.C. Now i want to join BBA. I am planning to prepare for GMAT and CAT from now onwards. I am an average student in MAths. Is it better to prepare personaly or better to take coaching (long term i.e. weekly two days classes). If I prepare from now onwards when it is better for me to appear the GMAT and CAT exams.

hi..it would be good for you if you concentrate on any one of the examinations ,having your legs in two separate boats is never an good option and always leads to failure ,
the cat and the gre examination are essentially an complete different examinations ,there are ,any things that are similar but the real difference is in the level of the questions asked in both the examination ,
in the cat examination the level of questions asked in the all the sections are almost same and are quite tough, there is lots of importance given to the reasoning and the data interrelation section also that's not the case with the gre examination where the main concentration is on the verbal section and the quantitative section is very easy and any engineering student can get at least 80% marks in the gre quantitative section of the gre examination and hence they have to only concentrate on the verbal section which is quite tougher than the cat examination specially the vocabulary part .
so if you are an serious candidate for the cat examination then it would be a good if you concentrate mainly on the cat examination and this coaching will help you even get an good score in the gre examination ,and also you should remember that an average score in the gre examination would be more than enough for you to get an good Coleridge in the united states if you have an good marks in the engineering an hence there is no need to give so much of time for this examination where as if you don't get an good rank in the cat examination there is no way that you can get an good college for admission because the competition and the number students who are gunning for the MBA from the best colleges in the country is just huge and can not be compared to any where in the world and to get an good rank in the cat examination you have to be the best and that will happen only if you give complete concentration to the cat examination preparation,
in fact you can use the gre examination as an practice test for the cat examination and if you do reasonably well in the gre examination your moral will really boost up for the cat examination and that may help you to get an good rank in the cat examination also .
also its very important to keep concentrating on your engineering because these days almost all the colleges are giving quite an more importance to the percentage in the graduation colleges and many students who get an good rank in gre or cat are being rejected by the colleges because they do not have an good percentage in there graduation
