CAT stands for Common Admission Test. It's a National Level Test which is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management. Candidates who wants to do post graduation in management and other degrees in management can appear for this exam. How much importance will be given to the CAT scores differs from one institution to the other.

Along with the CAT Scores some gives importance to the academic performance, work experience, written assessment and interview performance as well to select candidates. Apart from the IIMs, there are several other A grade institutions in India which accepts this score. No university will accept CAT scores because IIM is a private institution.

Since MBA is a post graduation course therefore to sit for this exam you need to complete graduation first in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. Along with that you also need to secure 50% of marks at graduation level. For the SC/ST candidates the percentage to secure is 45% in aggregate.

Even final year students who are about to sit for the main exam or awaiting the result of their main exam can also sit for this exam. If one gets selected then he/she needs to bring a certificate from the principal stating that he's completed all the formalities required to obtain a bachelor degree.

Reservation:-

SC Candidate: 15%
ST Candidate: 7.5%
OBC Candidate: 27%
Differently Abled: 3%

Test Pattern:-

1. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (70 mins)- 30 Questions
2. Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning (70 mins)- 30 Questions

Before the start of the exam you will get 15 mins to go through the paper. This time should be utilized judiciously. You have no choice when it comes to selecting sections. You will be given the first secton when the timer will start. After 70 minutes the first section will vanish and you will be no longer be allowed to return to that. For the second section too similar rules will be followed.

Hope this helps :-> :->
