Qualify the Civil Service Exam

The all India combined competitive examination for Civil Service comprises of two stages. They are

Preliminary Examination
Main Examination

Preliminary examination is usually conducted in the month of May/ June every year. This exam will be in objective type format. The exam consists of two papers, general studies and an optional subject. There will be questions for 150 marks from general section and 300 marks from optional subject. Candidates can choose their optional subject from the list given below.

Agriculture
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Botany
Chemistry
Civil Engineering
Commerce
Economics
Geography
Geology
Indian History
Law
Mathematics
Mechanical Engineering
Medical Science
Philosophy
Physics
Political Science
Psychology
Public Administration
Electrical Engineering
Sociology
Statistics
Zoology

The medium of instructions will be in English and in Hindi. Candidates can expect questions in the optional paper from the degree level syllabus. Time limit of each paper is two hours. Candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination are eligible for the main exam.

Clear the Main Examination

Main examination is of descriptive type. It consists of nine papers. Time duration for each paper is three hours. It comprises of the following papers.

One Indian Language for 300 marks
English for 300 marks
General Essay for 300 marks
General Studies of 300 marks
Any two optional papers for 300 marks each
Personal Interview

The final selection for Indian Administrative Service is carried out on the basis of personal interview. Usually the final interview is conducted in the month of April/ May every year. Candidates can expect questions on matters of general interest. The questions are designed to measure the suitability as well as the mental calibre of the candidates. Apart from this candidates will have to go for a medical test as part of selection procedure. Once selected, all candidates are required to undergo compulsory foundation training.

Eligibility Criteria for Civil Examination :-

** You must have a bachelor of degree in any stream from a recognized university

** Final students also eligible for this examination

Hi,

IAS stands for Indian Adminstrative Service. This exam conducted by the upsc once in a year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The applicant should complete the graduation from any recognized university with any stream. And no need to marks criteria just pass the graduation.

The applicant should be citizen of india.

The applicant age limit should be between 21 to 30 years.
3 years age relaxation for OBC category and 5 years age relaxation for sc/st categories.

Both male and female candidates are eligible for this exam.

4 attempts for general Candidates and 7 attempts for the obc candidates and no limit of attempts for the sc/st candidates.

IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one should be at least a Graduate in any stream preferably in Arts subject.

To become an IAS officer, the candidate has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year.

Required eligibility for Civil Service Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National
-Should have either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

Indian Administrative Service is a very reputed job. To become IAS officer you will have to appear in competitive exam. The name of the exam is Civil Service Examination. Only after passing this exam you can become IAS officer.


The responsibilities of IAS officer includes implementing government schemes and policy. IAS officer also has to make sure that public funds are being utilized properly. Several development schemes in rural areas also depend on Indian Administrative Service.


The high rank IAS officers are directly responsible for drafting government policy. They attend the meeting of top state officials and give their valuable feedback to draft the policy.


IAS officer also plays a very crucial role during natural disaster. In the condition of floods, earthquake etc, government is solely dependent on IAS officers for ground information. IAS officer will consistently visit the affected areas and help government craft a rescue or relief plan.



Eligibility

1. You must be Indian Citizen to appear for Civil Service Examination.

2. A graduation degree in required from a recognized university. It could be any bachelor's degree like B.A., B.Com, B.Sc etc.


Age Limit

1. The age limit for Civil Service Exam is 21 to 30 years.

2. OBC are eligible for 3 years relaxation in upper age.

3. While SC/ST are eligible for 5 years relaxation.


Number of Attempts

1. General - 4

2. OBC - 7

3. SC/ST - No limit.



Exam Pattern

There are two sections of the Civil Service Exam:

1) Preliminary Exam

There are 2 papers in the Preliminary Exams. First paper is on General studies while second paper is on optional subject.


2) Main Exam

To appear in Main exam it is important that you first clear the Preliminary Exams. There are total of 9 papers in Main Exam including 4 papers on 2 optional subjects.

First of all complete your graduation from recognized university.
To become an IAS officer you will have to give civil service exam which is conduct every year by UPSC.
Age should be minimum 21 and maximum 30 years for general categories. Ther is further relaxation for obc is 3 year and for sc/st is 5 year. In IAS exam only four attempts for general,for obc 7 attempts and no limit for sc/st.
Fee for general candidate is Rs. 100 only. No fee for sc/st/pd.
You can select any two subjects of them:

Medical Science
Chemistry
Philosophy

1).Candidate Must be graduate in any discipline and Indian also.
2) Candidate age between in 21-30 years
3) General candidate Attempts for IAS Exam only 4 times and OBC can attempt for IAS only 7 time and for sc/st candidate no limit.
