Dear friend

IES stands for the Indian Engineering services .This exam is conducted every year for the engineering aspirants who wants to join the different departments like :

1.Indian Railways

2.Military engineering services

3.Naval Armanent service etc.

For this exam , interested candidate should have done his bachelor's degree in engineering or technology in any trade of his choice .But candidates having branches other civil ,mechanical,electrical ,civil and electronics have to select subjects from these branches only for their conventional papers.

During you final year of engineering ,you can also apply for the exam.

The age limit for the IES exam is :

>>General category :21-30 years

>>OBC :21-33 years

>>SC/ST:21-35 years

The no of attempts for this exam is also category dependent that is general candidates have only four chances ,whereas obc have seven attempts and sc/st has no restriction on giving exams till their age limit.

The examination pattern is as below:

IES Stands Indian Engineering Service

Candidates must be Indian

Educational Qualification :

Candidates must be complete Graduation in following stream from a recognized University .

Electrical Engineering

Electronics & Communications Engineering

Civil Engineering

Mechanical Engineering (OR) any equivalent degree from a recognized university

Age Limit :


Candidates age limit between 21 to 30 years from a recognized university

The upper age relaxation as per govt rules

If you have completed Engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam .Eligible Departments are -

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for CDS exam.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.
