Hi

You can start preparing for CAT entrance exam from your pre final year.
The syllabus of CAT exams would be as follows.

CAT Verbal/English Ability Syllabus: Reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, syllogisms, analogies, antonyms and synonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, idioms, etc.

CAT Quant/Maths Ability Syllabus: Nu,ber systems, geometry, trogonometry, probability, permutation combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work, averages, percentages, profit and loss, quadratic and linear equations, etc.

CAT Data Interpretation Syllabus: Interpretation and analysis of data based on text, tables, graphs (line, area), charts (column, bar, pie), venn diagram, etc.

CAT Logical Reasoning Syllabus: Clocks, calendars, binary logic, seating arrangement, blood relations, logical sequence, assumption, premise, conclusion, linear and matrix arrangement, etc

You can join any good coaching classes to cover full syllabus on time.
The reason why I am suggesting you this is because they cover entire syllabus in the time frame which is not possible unless we are very much determined.
I would advice you to go for T.I.M.E as they have good faculty and each year number of students coming into IIMs from T.I.M.E is increasing day by day.
These coaching institute have various courses. You can get enrolled in any one of them.

All the best

Hello friend,
For the preparation of CAT or any other Exam you need to concentrate more of time management because time makes the crucial factor to answer all the questions which you have given and also a positive thinking i.e.., to recall the subjects which you have covered in school.

Here i suggest to through the below link by Mr.Ajay Arora,T.I.M.E Banglore for CAT Preparation strategies

Re: What is the method to prepare for CAT entrance exam?

Dear student,
It would be better if you start your preparation early for a competitive exam like CAT. The main thing required for this exam is the knowledge of ENGLISH and MATHS. You can solve the previous years' question papers for practice. Then you can also access your weak and sharp areas... You can download the papers from net. To improve your English you can read newspapers like The Times Of India...For maths you can consult some books like:
Arihant Mathematics
Maths for Competitions
SK Goyal
Vedic Maths by Dhaval Bathia.... Vedic maths consists of methods that would increase your speed of solving complicated questions..
Thankyou,
Aishwarya Mehrotra
