Indian Administrative Service, Indian Forest Service and Indian Police Service are the three top civil service exams you can give. There is a constitutional body called Union Public Service Commission which conducts this examination. Eligibility Criteria:- Nationality:- =>You need to be a citizen of India. Educational Qualification:- =>You need to have a bachelor degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. =>If you are in the final year of your degree and waiting for the result or about to sit for your final exam then also you are eligible. Age Criteria:- => Minimum Age Limit:- 21 years => Maximum Age Limit:- 30 years Age Relaxation:- => Upper age limit relaxation is there for the following candidates: ~SC/ST Candidates: 5 yrs ~OBC Candidates: 3 yrs ~Differently Abled Candidates: 10 yrs ~Ex-Servicemen: 5 yrs Number of Attempts:- ~General Candidates: 4 attempts ~OBC Candidates: 7 attempts ~SC/ST Candidates: Unlimited ~PWD Candidates: Unlimited Selection Procedure:- ~Preliminary Examination ~Main Examination ~Interview Session Prelim Paper:- For this exam there will be two papers and 200 marks have been allotted for each paper. The total time duration for completing the paper is two hours. Main Paper:- There will be seven papers and 1800 marks have been allotted for the full exam. Re: How to become an IAS officer? Selecting arts in 12th and graduation helps you to qualify IAS to a certain extent. For prelims, there are questions on history, geography, polity, etc. Selecting arts as the main subject helps you to get well versed in these subjects. Anyhow you need to prepare for topics like general aptitude, English language, and general studies also. |

Minimum qualification required to appear for IAS exams is Graduation from a recognized university. So,to become an IAS Officer you need to fulfil all the eligiblity criteria and crack Civil Services Exam. Some tips to crack this exam are:Proper planning is very much essential in the process of preparing for the IAS civil service examination.
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. AGE limit:- Age must be between 21 to 33 years for General category. Age must be 21 to 35 for OBC category. Age must be 21 to 35 for SC/ST category Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages: Prelims MAINS Interview Minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services exams is: Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation Age- Minimum 21 years Maximum 30 years OBC can apply till 33 years SC/ST can apply till 35 years Attempts/Chances: UPSC has also fixed number of attempts General- 4 times OBC-7 times SC/ST-No Restrictions |

Re: How to become an IAS officer? You can choose any stream in 11th, it will hardly make any difference. You will not stand to gain anything neither you will face any disadvantage. So Arts, Commerce or Science, none will help you out. Therefore you can pick any stream but keep in mind that it will not offer you any advantage. You should study hard to become Indian Administrative Service officer. For which you will have to clear the Civil Services Examination. The exam is conducted in two stages. First is preliminary exam where you will given one paper on general studies and one on optional subject. It is merely a qualifying exam thus the marks obtained will not be added to your final score. The second stage is Main exam. You can only reach this stage if cleared the preliminary exam. It has particular signifigance because the marks scored in 9 written tests conducted under main exam will be your final score. There will be 2 papers on general studies, one of essay, 2 on languages and remaining 4 papers on optional subject. You will have to select 2 optional subjects for the main exam. Choose subjects that are related to your course. Don't go for engineering or other tough subjects that might bring your downfall. Eligibility 1. Nationality: Indian nationals can apply. 2. Qualification: Bachelor degree in any discipline. 3. Marks: No criteria 4. Age Limit: 21 to 30 years candidates can appear. 5. OBC Relaxation: 3 years in upper age limit. 6.
