Re: What is the percentage required for CPT entrance exam?

You just need to pass 10th and 12th pass if you want to appear for CA CPT.

There is no percentage criteria mentioned for 12th class students who wish to appear for CA CPT. So don't worry about percentage and start preparing for the CPT.

Those who are Commerce Graduate with 55% marks and Non Commerce Graduate with 60% marks will be exempted from CPT.

CPT is Common Proficiency Test for getting entry Chartered Accountancy course after 12th class.

CPT Pattern:

There will be objective type questions related to following topics:

-Accounting

-Mercantile Laws

-General Economics

-Quantitative Aptitude

You have to get 50% marks in CPT to qualify and get entry into CA IPCC.

So be prepared for the CPT if you are 12th pass and don't worry about your percentage if it is very low because percentage criteria is not there for CA CPT.

Re: What is the percentage required for CPT entrance exam?

Dear friend
There is no minimum percentage required to appear for the CPT entrance exam but you should have qualified 12th from a recognised board/institute.

>>CPT stands for Common Proficiency Test

The candidates who had completed 12th and are interested to join in CA course need to appear for the CPT entrance exam. This exam is an entrance exam to get admission into CA course. The CPT exam will be conducted twice in a year in the months of june and december. After qualifying in the CPT entrance exam you can go for IPCC course. After qualifying in the IPCC exam then you are eligible to join in CA course.

**CPT Exam Pattern :
The CPT exam is of objective type and the questions will be asked from the following four topics :

>>Accounting

>>Mercantile Laws

>>General Economics

>>Quantitative Aptitude

After completing the CA-Final course with atleast 60% of marks you can get a good job as a chattered accountant in top companies with 3-4 lakhs salary per year.

All The Best

Re: What is the percentage required for CPT entrance exam?

There isn't any requirement for Common Proficiency Test. You can simply appear for the Common Proficiency Test after completing 12th standard. While you can register for it even after completing 10th.

Marks in 10th and 12th are not the issue for Common Proficiency Test which is the first stage of Chartered Accountancy course. There are two groups in the test. You need to score 30 percent in each group to clear the Common Proficiency Test.

1. Fundamentals of Accountancy

2. Economics

3. Mercantile Law

4. Quantitative Aptitude

It is necessary to clear the Common Proficiency Test, unless you have completed graduation. In that scenario you can be given exemption from appearing for this exam.

However you need to meet the criteria. Commerce graduates should have 55 percent marks while non commerce graduates should be 60 percent marks to get exemption as per the rules of ICAI.

Either way the next step will be Integrated Professional Competancy Course, the second stage of Chartered Accountancy course. There are two groups in IPCC as well.

IPCC Group 1

1. Accounting

2. Business Laws,Ethics and Communication

3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management

4. Taxation

IPCC Group 2

5. Advanced Accounting

6. Auditing and Assurance

7. Information Technology and Strategic Management

Once you have cleared the first group, apply for the articleship of 3 years. During which you can appear for second group and apply for the final examination.
