Re: How to apply for different PSU while in ECE 4th year?

There are basically two ways to get job in Public Sector Undertaking. First one is on campus job. A lot of PSU hire students directly from college before they complete the graduation. I don't know which college you are studying in but surely it must be inviting some companies especially the PSU to hire the students.

The second way is that you complete the B.Tech degree in ECE, wait for the job ad by PSU in the newspaper and then apply for the job. In case of several PSU like Indian Railways, ISRO etc, you will have to appear in the entrance exam that takes place every year. Only cadidates who pass these entrance exams are eligible for job in Public Sector Undertaking.

It does not matter which post or which PSU you are applying for. You will have to sit in a entrance exam. I should also tell you that most PSU want job candidates to have secure at least 60 percent in the B.Tech course. If not, your chances of working in a PSU would be very thin.

Since you are in the final term, I would recommend you to appear in the GATE exam. I am not asking you to go for M.Tech, there are plenty of jobs even after graduation course. PSU companies give a lot of importance to the GATE exam score. It does not matter if you go for M.Tech or not, appearing in GATE gives you advantage if you perform well in the exam.

PSU give priorty to candidates with good GATE score while selecting the candidate for the job. If you are performed extremely well in GATE then you may not have to appear in entrance exam but the PSU would call you up directly for an interview after which you may get the job.

Here are some PSU where you can apply for the job.

Okay so you have not completed the Engineering course yet. Since you have taken up Electronics and Communication Engineering, the job options in front of you in Public Sector Undertakings are very bright. It is because that almost every single Public Sector Undertaking in the country requires Electronics and Communication Engineers.
