Re: How to prepare for CAT exam while in final year B.Com?

hi

CAT score however big may not let you into IIMs
You need to have excelled in other components as well. CAT score is a gate way to IIM but final selection is not entirely on CAT score.

Final selection is based on
1. 10th marks
2. 12th marks
3. graduation marks
4. work ex
5. CAT Score
6. GD/WAT
7. PI
8. Extra Curriculum

Inorder to get call from various IIMs try to get the following percentile (for general)

1. IIM A, IIM B, IIM C 99.8+ percentile
2. IIM L, IIM K, IIM I 99+ percentile
3. IIM Shilong 98.5+ good academic background
4. New IIMs. 98+ percentile

Re: How to prepare for CAT exam while in final year B.Com?

There are three section in exam
1. quantative analysis and data interpretation.
2.english
3. general knowledge.

now i would suggest you to do part 1 from book by Arihant.
and for part 2 you can take help from English Grammar book by Thomsan and martin, and for part 3, you should refer magazines like current affairs.

and finally do lots a excercise for better result
best of luck..
