India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment. Eligibility Criteria :- A.)Educational Qualification:- The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC. B.)Age Factor:- 1.> For general category :- 21-30 years and can attempt 4 times. 2.>For SC/ST :- 21-35 years ,and there is no limitation . 3.> For the OBC:- 21-33 years and can attempt 7 times. Paper Pattern for IAS exam :- 1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper carries 150 marks. Instead of one compulsory paper of General Studies and one Optional paper, both the papers shall be compulsory. >> General Candidates will gets 4 Chances to cracked this examination >> OBC Candidates will gets 7 Chances >> No Limits for SC/ST Candidates. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice). (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice). Eligibility of IAS, Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian National. -Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service exam, is called for a Preliminary exam also called as CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test). Re: Procedure and eligibility to attend IAS exam? Let me start by saying that your martial status will not hamper prospect of appearing for the Civil Services Examination. Now if you want to appear for Indian Administrative Service then surely needs to complete graduation. It does not matter if you discountinued the graduation few years ago and now completed it. As long as you complete any graduation course there should be no problem in appearing for the Civil Services Examination. Once you have completed graduation start preparing for the Civil Services Examination and when the time comes apply for it. The notification for next Civil Services Examination will now only be issued next year. If you completes the graduation in between then use the remaining time to prepare for the entrance exam. You will face a tough competition to clear the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. IAS Eligibility 1. Must be able to provide document verifying your Indian nationality. 2. Do need a graduation degree as qualification to apply. 3. Marks in the graduation does not matter as long as you have passed. 4. Candidates younger than 21 years are not eligible for the exam. 5. You should not cross 30 years age limit criteria. 6. The relaxation is 3 years for the OBC. 7. It is 5 years for SC/ST. 8.
