Indian Administrative Service is the entrance examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.The eligibility details of the examination are:
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • You must have completed graduation from any recognized university.
  • Must have atleast 21 years of age.
  • The maximum age upto which a candidate can apply is 30 years.
  • Upper age relaxation is provided for the reservedcategory candidates.
  • If you belong to SC/ST category then you can apply for the exam upto 35 years.
  • If you belong to OBC category then you can apply for the exam upto 33 years.
  • If you belong to physically handicapped category then you can apply for the exam upto 40 years.
  • If you have Ex-Service men quota then you will get upper age relaxable upto 5 years.
These are the details of the IAS examination.Coming to the exam pattern, there will be a preliminary Examination and Main examination.The examination is followed by an Interview.

To apply for the exam, first you must purchase the application form which is available at designated post offices/Head post offices throughout the country.The cost of the application is only 50/- and the application is available at free of cost for the candidates belonging to SC/ST,OBC,PWD categories.After filling the application the candidates are required to attest the following copies,they are:
  • Cartificate of Age.
  • Certificate of Educational Qualification.
  • Certificate of Caste.
The application must reach the following address:
Secretrary, Union public service commission,
Dholpur House,
Shahjahan House,
New Delhi-110669.

Procedure to Apply for IAS Exam:

You can apply for IAS examination through online mode.

-Visit UPSC Official website http://www.upsconline.nic.in

-Now selection the online application for Civil Services examination.

-The online application will be shown to you in which you have to enter all the details.

-You must have scanned photo of yourself and signature in JPG format for uploading in the online application.

-Without uploading the photo and signature your application will not be completed. So get it ready when you are in front of computer for applying.

-You can pay the Application fee through online payment gateway like Net Banking, Debit Card , Visa or Mastercard .

-There is Bank Challan payment system also and you have to take print of Bank challan and submit the fee in the State Bank Of India.

Please make sure that you have the required qualification for IAS examination .

The minimum educational qualification is Graduation in any stream and age must be between 21 to 30 years and age relaxation is available for reserved categories.

There is no entrance exam as IAS entrance exam.

IAS - Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

The civil Service can be applied through both Offline an on line mode.

Through off line mode the application can be obtained from General Post offices through out the country.

Through on line mode the application can be down loaded from the official website of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsconline.com and the payment can be made through SBI Debit card/Net banking/ counter.

The eligible candidate being an Indian national having either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for IAS, Civil Service Exam.

You should apply for IAS entrance exam through online

First you know the apply date for IAS entrance exam

For this year(2013) online apply date is over so you should wait for next notification

You can apply for the exams through the below website
www.upsconline.nic.in

Eligibility:

You should must be a citizen of India

No percentage is required for this exam

You should complete graduate in any recognized university

Final year appearing candidates are also eligible for this exam

Age limit:

21 to 30 years.

Upper relaxation applicable

3 years for OBC

5 years for SC\ST

Applications for IAS exam can be submitted online through the web portal of UPSC. Instructions for filling and submitting applications are available in this portal. You must have completed graduation, in order to apply. Your age must fall between 21 and 30 years. Prelims, mains, and interview are conducted for selection.

Notifications for this exam will come out on 2nd February 2013
Last date to apply is 4th March 2013
