I am very afraid to say but since you have scored less than 50% of marks at graduation level therefore you are not eligible to give the CAT examination. For CAT the main criteria is that one needs to have 50% of marks or more than that to be considered eligible.

Here is the eligibility criteria of CAT exam as listed by the Indian Institute of Management which conducts the examination:-

1. Graduation degree in any discipline.

2. 50% of marks in aggregate at grad level.

3. 45% of marks for the reserved category. (SC/ST/PWD)

4. Final year students can apply.

But you are most definitely eligible to sit for the MAT examination since the marks is not an issue as far as MAT exam is concerned. This exam just like CAT is also a national level entrance and very popular among MBA aspirants. The full form of MAT is Management Aptitude Test and this exam is conducted by the AIMA.

Both offline and online test is there to choose from and this exam is conducted for four times every year. The September's exam registration process is over so now you have to wait for December exam's notification to come out.

Here is the eligibility criteria in a glance:-

1. A graduate degree in any discipline.

2. Pass marks or 40% of marks is required.

3. Final year students can apply.

4. There is no age limit.

As far as getting a well reputed college is concerned that completely depends on the score you manage to get in the written exam and also your performance in the subsequent stages is going to guarantee that. So start preparing beforehand, make a routine and try and stick to it. Then you will surely get the result you are looking for. All the best.

Hope this helps :-> :->

You have scored 47% in Graduation and if you are from General Category candidate, you are not eligible to apply for CAT, but you are eligible to apply for MAT for admission to MBA.

CAT - Common Admission Test, is an entrance exam conducted by IIM(Indian Institute of Management) for admission to MBA(Master of Business Administration) course.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Graduation Degree i any stream with 50% marks(45% marks for SC/ST candidate) from a recognised University with no upper age limitation, can apply for CAT.

MAT - Management Aptitude Test, conducted by AIMA(All Indian Management Association) - The eligible candidate must be an Indian national having completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University with no percentage of marks criteria, can apply for MAT.

Your graduation marks is above 47%.So we have discussed about if you are applicable for CAT or MAT exam or NOT.

Those candidate have above 50% in graduation are eligible for CAT exam. For SC/ST candidate this marks is decreased to 45% in graduation.

So if you are from SC/ST category then you are applicable for CAT exam otherwise not.

Your graduation college or university must have UGC approval. This exam is conduct once time in a year.

You can apply here maximum times because there is no limitation to attempts for CAT exam.

If you have completed graduation course then you are applicable for MAT exam.Their is no marks criteria .So any graduate from recognized university are applicable for MAT exam.

Your graduation marks is above 47% so you are applicable for MAT exam.

Final year student in any undergraduate (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc.)can apply here.

There is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation which is different for different management institutes and universities.

For more details you can visit to http://www.aima-ind.org
