Re: What is the right time to prepare for CAT exam?

Hi friend,

-------> First of all know the syllabus of CAT exam carefully ad gather the previous years question papers. You need more concentration and dedication about CAT exam.

-------> Now prepare the schedule in what time you want to prepare in a day.

-------> Choose the right place without disturbance and take brakes in between studies.

-------> Now the right time to prepare to get more concentration is morning hours and do practice as much you can.

-------> There are many CAT training institutes available for best coaching you can join in them to get more concentration and study environment.

Thank you.......

Right time is always there when you are in a sense to do something that you have decided never forget the more the practice for your subjects you do the more the perfect you would become.
1. Make list of subjects according to your Exam
2. Choose suitable time daily and just give your best input you will get admission just after the B.Tech

Re: What is the right time to prepare for CAT exam?

six steps to get into your
dream management institute.
1. Know what the test consists of: To
score well, you need to know what
sections the test paper consists of. CAT
consists of Quantitative Ability or
mathematical aptitude, Verbal Ability
or your English language skills and
Data Interpretation and Logical
Reasoning. The Quantitative Ability
section consists of the topics of
Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry,
Trigonometry, Mensuration and all
those topics which you have studied
till class X. The topics covered in
Verbal Ability are reading, grammar,
comprehension and vocabulary. The
questions on Data Interpretation and
Logical Reasoning are on Graphs,
Charts etc. It is very important to know
the content of the test, to ace it.
2. Know your strengths, work on your
weaknesses: Plan your preparation
after knowing your strengths and
weaknesses. For this you should take a
diagnostic test as it will tell you where
you stand. Speaking on the importance
o working on your weakness, Abhishek
Jha, a IIM alumnus says, "You should
identify your strengths and weakness
and work out a strategy based on your
strengths. Cracking CAT is all about
time management. You don't need to
answer all the questions, but have to
ensure that you crack the maximum
questions in what your are confident
about and ensure that you crack the
minimum required in your weak
sections to clear cutoffs and thus
division of time so as to get the
maximum out of the paper is very
important."
3. Work on your weaknesses: Start
your preparation after gauging your
weaknesses. Experts say the first step
is to start with class X level CBSE/ICSE
books on Math and English grammar.
One should also read newspapers,
business dailies and magazines as this
exercise will help you to understand
different topics and increase your hold
over English, general knowledge and
various other topics. Speaking about
importance of reading newspapers, an
expert on CAT said, "English is always
the key in CAT. You should try to
figure out if you are weak in
comprehension or is it with questions
in verbal ability and work out a
strategy based on your strong points.
Ideal case preparation for English is
reading editorial of a paper like Hindu
with full comprehension and
underlining those words which you
don't understand and then find out
those words meaning next day. This
will help improve your vocabulary."
Many institutes like T.I.M.E., IMS
Learning, Career Launcher and PT
Education also prepare you for CAT,
and are especially useful if your
fundamentals are weak,
4. Prepare a time table: To excel, one
has to be very organised. You should
make a time table and follow it. Manish
Saraf, COO, PT Education, in an
interview to a news portal, has divided
the time table as allocate 45 days to
get all fundamentals of Quant, Verbal
and DI/Logic in place. Slot one hour per
area, i.e., three hours of study every
day."
5. Practice makes you perfect When
you get a grip over the basic syllabus
of the CAT exam, you should start
taking regular mock tests to know
your preparation status. Also you must
see if you are improving after taking
the tests and analyse your
performance.
6. Plan your answering strategy: These
are few points you must plan out
before taking the CAT-:

Re: What is the right time to prepare for CAT exam?

HI

The best time to prepare for CAT is during prefinal year of your graduation.

It is adviced to join any CAT coaching institute as they cover all the topics and also teach you short cuts.
They cover all the syllabus on time.
If you prepare on your own, you will have to be very determined and planned to finish it on time and cover everything.

During your final year and few months after that, you can revise everything.

All the best

Re: What is the right time to prepare for CAT exam?

Ideally preparation for CAT is to begin as early as the penultimate year of graduation...to be precise about 12-15 months of preparation is more than sufficient...that is if a person is doing BSc...he/she has to start the preparations when he enters into his/her second year, if he/she is an engineering student, start of in third year...However a person can start the preparation even during his year of graduation by doing a crash course offered by CAT coaching classes like T.I.M.E,2IIM which ranges anywhere from 2-3 months prior to CAT have a good time & best of luck with the preparations... tc

Re: What is the right time to prepare for CAT exam?

This is the right time for you to prepare for CAT to get admission into MBA.

CAT is the management entrance exam for getting admission in institutes like IIMs....

You have to work hard to get into those institutes.

The best option is to join a coaching center.
Because in a coaching center you will get the environment of a school/college and teachers will always be there to clear your doubts and confusions.
They will take mock tests and will give you study materials and valuable tricks and notes for the exam.

So its better to join a coaching class, because self study is not enough for that. So you have to work very hard because cracking those entrance exams are very tough specially CAT which is considered as the most toughest management entrance exam in India.

CAT is conducted by IIMs, the Class A B-schools in India...CAT is the most toughest entrance exam in India by IIMs for MBA.

So prepare for those exams to study MBA.

But one thing is, there will many other students present in those centers and they will also get the same notes, study materials that you will get.

So you have to study for at least 6 7 hours a day by yourself at home...to become ahead of them.

So join a good coaching center in your city and try to join those batch which has less students, so that teachers can focus on each and every student separately......

And also focus on your B.tech studies, because they important too.

Re: What is the right time to prepare for CAT exam?

Ideally one year is more than enough to prepare for this test. So you must start your preparation in the third year of engineering. You will have sufficient time to start with the basics. Solve sufficient problems to understand the concepts well. In the mean time you must update yourself in the general awareness section. You can join for some coaching class too.

thanks
