Re: Difference between CSE and IT branch? What is the scope of the same?

Good to see this discussion. Leave out what is in India regarding CSE and IT. Probably one has to know what really they are?

Computer Science is more related to Algorithms, Operating Systems, Compiler Development, etc., which is more System SW orientation.

Computer Engg is more related to HW aspects of Computers such as designing microproecessors, Adv Architectures, Embedded Systems, etc.,

IT is more application related. Rather its tint will be Application SW development orientation. Rather Comp Sci people have to better knowledges of HW to drive the HW, have to also know requirements of Application people.

Still you may be wondering. Just a small success?. Does Google success is attributed to Comp Sci, Comp Engg or IT?. Is it HW or SW success?. I am sure you will accept with me that its the Algorithmic success.

Also, Amazon is the first succesful online or e-busines company?. What is it?. Do we attribute it to Comp Sci, Comp Engg of IT?. I say it is IT?.

Now, what about the forthcoming Android boom?. If we develop device drivers for Android platform it can be termed as Comp Sci action, if we develop application using Java, then it can be called as IT service.

I hope I have not confused.

But the pathetic thing is we have missed Comp Sci flavours in our curriculam

Friend, both Information Technology (IT) and Computer Engineering (CE) are almost same. But, IT little bit deals with the Computer Hardware.

CE and IT has same Subjects in the graduation and same scope. Both are having the same Job opportunities. So, there is no problem in choosing the branch. You can choose either of the one from CE and IT.

Job Opportunities for CE and IT:

You can get in to top Multi National Companies as,
 • TCS.
 • Infosys.
 • Wipro.
 • CTS.
 • IBM.
 • Accenture.
 • Google.
 • Oracle.
You should have an aggregate of 60% through out your career.

You can earn Rs.25,000 Per Month.

You can also apply for Government Jobs as,
 • RRB.
 • SBI PO.
 • ISRO Computer Engineers Post. and many.
All The Best!!

Re: Difference between CSE and IT branch? What is the scope of the same?

hello dear,
CSE branch is related to the development branch in which testing will be done under the guidance of senior cse Engineer where as IT branch is related to software tool, application management and other thing
but both are basically same
there are various scope for c.s.e and it sector then can go in the software field like wipro, hcl, tcs, infosysis and many other

good luck

Computer Science is the mother of all computational disciplines (Computer Engineering, Information Technology/Information Science, Software Engineering, ICT, etc).

Computer Engineering and Information Technology had different objectives. But today, they appear as synonyms.

Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Science and Engineering (ISE) have subjects such as File Structures, Management and Information Systems MIS are covered by ISE whereas Computer Graphics and Advanced Microprocessors are covered only by CSE.

Computer Science and Engineering has wider scope than Information Science and Engineering (ISE), thereby leading to more demand for CSE.

When IT companies visit campuses for recruitment, CSE and ISE students receive an equal number of job options.
So,There is no more difference.

Re: Difference between CSE and IT branch? What is the scope of the same?

Hi...

The basic idea by which these two branches were separated that CS is basically to give emphasis on the Algorithmic part of computer sciences with the knowledge of hardware, and IT is mostly the application part of CS.

In IT more focus is how to use existing technologies more efficiently and effectively,

But now a days engineers do not go in either Algorithmic part nor Application, just read books and give exams

so basically both are the same things.

So basically main difference is that but when it comes to placement, industry takes both as same, not much difference.

For Industries IT and CS graduates are the same.

In Curriculum there is slight difference but that does specified the specific branch but the main thing is the final year project and seminars you people choose.

That majorly decide the area you are working and there are no such restriction on the project selection as per the branch.

The starting salary depends upon your college and company.

Generally,it is around 30,000 per month.

I hope you are satisfied with the answer.

Thanks.

Re: Difference between CSE and IT branch? What is the scope of the same?

CSE and IT are related branches in engineering with slight differences. CSE branch give emphasis to the development of software by using different programming tools. It also gives importance to hardware aspect. IT branch on the other hand, focuses on which software tool must be selected to complete a particular task. Future scope and the salary packages of both the streams are more or less the same. Salary also depends on the organization in which a candidate works. Reputed firms like Infosys, Wipro, DELL, etcs offer initial level salary of Rs. 20,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- per month.
