as you want to be a lawyer you need to go for llb degree from a recognized regular college ,

LLB stands for bachelor of law

one thing you should remember about llb course generally there are no correspondence college for llb but if you go for llb through correspondence you won't be able to practice as a lawyer in the courts so it is advisable to pursue llb from a regular mode,

many universities offer llb courses and conducts entrance exams for it like delhi university, banaras hindu university ,govt law college mumbai

eligibility for 3 year llb :

must hold a graduation degree

must hold 45 to 50 % in graduation

5% relaxation for sc/st students

age limit should br less than 30 years

5 year relaxation for sc/st candidates

no relaxation for others

Delhi university has no marks requirement for sc/st students

good luck

Hi,

As you have completed BA and you want to become a lawyer, then you can do LLB.

LLB is a three year course in Law.

For LLB you will have to clear CLAT.

CLAT - Common Law Admission Test

For CLAT, you should be a graduate with 45 % marks, from a recognised university.

Upper age limit for LLB is 30 years.

In India there are many good law colleges, which take admission on the basis of CLAT scores like --

NALSAR Hyderabad

National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata

NLIU Bhopal

National Law University, Jodhpur

GNLU Gandhinagar

HNLU Raipur

National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi

RMLNLU Lucknow

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala

NLU Orissa

Chanakya National Law University, Patna

If you want to become lawyer then take up the LLB course after completing graduation. There are two LLB degrees. First is the integrated LLB which has duration of 5 years.

This degree integrates a bachelor degree with LLB course. For example the courses offered are BA LLB, B.Com LLB, BBA LLB etc. You should not apply for this course since you have already completing or doing graduation course.

What you should go for is the LLB 3 years course. It is taken after completing graduation. There are various colleges offering the 3 years LLB in India.

Before you take admission please keep in mind that LLB is not offered through correspondence. It is only a regular mode degree. Which means that if you completed it through distance education or regular mode then Bar Council of India will reject it and you won't be allowed to practice as the lawyer.

Some good options as far as colleges are concerned include Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Government Law College, Mumbai etc. Some colleges conduct entrance exam for admission while on the other hand some give admission on merit.

LLB Eligibility

1. You will need to complete graduation.

2. Must be able to score 45 to 50 percent marks.

3. The relaxation is 5% for SC and ST.

4. In DU, there is no marks criteria for SC/ST.

5. Upper age limit is 30 years for the course.

6. With 5 years relaxation for SC and ST.

7. There is no relaxation for OBC in marks or age limit.

After completion of BA you can apply for LL.B.(Bachelor of Law) which is an under Graduate course in Law of three year durations. There are ample scope of a Law Graduate in both Govt. and Private sector or else there is wide scope for legal practice as a Lawyer which is a very challenging and exiting profession.

Some reputed Institutions conduct entrance exam for admission to LL.B. course and other conduct admission on the basis of marks secured in Graduation.

After three years of LL.B. course divided in to six semesters successfully, to become a Lawyer you have to apply for a professional license through respective State Bar Association with certain prescribed fees to obtain a Bar License after which you become able to practice as a Lawyer.
