The subject of Business Economics is important because it teaches the various factors, causes and impacts in economics that might affect business. The interrelation between both economics and business is brought out by this subject. Some of the topics taught under this subject are Demand and Supply, Marginal Propensity to consume, Weighted Price Index number, Deficit Financing, Canon of Equality, Administrative Revenue, recession and inflation, Autonomous Investment , effects of taxation, rational expectation theory, Keynesian concept of inflationary gap, role of marginal efficiency of capital in determining capital, origin and organisation of WTO, Macroeconomics, its issues and importance, VAT and its implications, Different sources of public revenue, various steps involved in computation of index numbers with an illustration, factors responsible for inflation or recession and their respective consequences, globalisation and the arguments for and against it, the effects of business cycles and the measures of controlling business life, Keynesian theory of employment, etc.
