Dear friend, You can't join any NIT directly. for this you have to appear in an entrance exam named as AIEEE. it means All India Engineering Entrance Examination. it is conducted by CBSE to take admission in 30 NITs and various government and private college/institute in India. AIEEE has been started in 2002. eligibility to appear in this exam is passed/appeared in 12th with Physics and Mathematics as a main subject. and third subject may be one of these - chemistry, biology, computer science. there is also reservation for OBC and SC/ST/PH candidates in NITs. as you said that you belong to OBC, it can be said that you will have to score under 30000 AIR in AIEEE to get any NIT of these 30 NITs.
