Re: Branches for B.Tech from NDA? Difference between NDA and Naval Academy?

There is no such division on the basis of engineering stream in National Defence Academy.
The NDA serves both like a normal academy and a training academy.
All cadets are required to choose a particular subjects for their graduation but the
most important part of it is its training.
The training in NDA comprises of academic training, military strategies, outdoor activities
like para gliding, sailing, horsemanship, rock climbing, physical training, firing and
whatever other activities a officer soldier should know.
After 3 year training the cadets are awarded with B.Sc. degree and their designation
is termed as Leaftenent Colonel or Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Col.)
After 3 year training and study in NDA cadets are sent to
AIR FORCE ACADEMY/NAVAL ACADEMY/INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY according to the
streams allotted to them.
If you join Indian Air Force through Air Force technical exam which is conducted
separately by IAF you will have to study the engineering branches.
Also, the eligibility for IAF technical exam is 10+2 examination (PCM).

Difference between NDA and Naval Academy
NDA is the first training center for all those who qualify NDA exam and its ssb interview.
Naval Academy is concerned with training for Indian Navy.

Good luck............

Re: Branches for B.Tech from NDA? Difference between NDA and Naval Academy?

I wish to know what is the difference between the outcome of candidates joining the NA (Naval Academy) and as a Naval cadet in NDA. In both the cases the induction is through NDA conducted by UPSC and subsequent SSB.

dear friend:-
ssb conduct a various number of test.
such as intelligence test, written test, medical test, group test, discussion test etc
in your intelligence test they see your intelligence level..
they check your smartness test means how smart are you.
they check you have officer type qualities or not,,
you have a quality of group discussion or not

you have to train yourself in this regard.. if you all these quality are surly selected for it.

good luck

dear friend:-
NDA means national defence academy..means all defence academy in india comes under nda such as ima( indian militry academy), na (naval accademy)

those candidate who are selected as naval officers may have to go to na,
and those who are are selected as army officers they have to go ima etc..

Re: Branches for B.Tech from NDA? Difference between NDA and Naval Academy?

sorry NDA give u a B.Sc or B.Com degree from JNU....still if want to do engineering from indian army or navy
you have to get more than 70 and 75% in 12th PCM and then fill up TES form which is available twice a year.. and you will be directly called for an interview,,

their you may get B.Tech in
Electronics
Mechanical
or Signals...

Re: Branches for B.Tech from NDA? Difference between NDA and Naval Academy?

NDA is not such institution which provide various degree courses or engineering courses.

NDA is the institution which is purely dedicate for Defence forces, its a Defence Academy, its main aim is to provide training to the candidates who have qualified the NDA exam, even the NDA exam is conducted by UPSC.

Candidates who are under training in NDA will also pursue Graduation degree (by distance learning program). NDA has a collaboration with JNU which is the institution to provide the Degree in various decipline.
