Eligiblity criteria -

- Your age should between 21 to 30 years.
- You must have a bachelor degree from a recognised University.
- Final year appearing candidates are also eligible.

The General candidates will gets only 4 attempts in this exams and no limits for SC, ST candidates.

The notification are published in the month of february in the employment newspaper & all national dailies.

I am happy to inform you that you are eligible for I.A.S exam after passing graduation with 50% marks.

In I.A.S exam there is no percentage criteria.

I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For O.B.C category:- 7 attempts
For ST/SC category:- no limit attempts

I am sorry to say that you can not apply in I.A.S in 2012 because last date of submission of form is over.

min of 21 years & max 30 years for general candidates
33 years for Obc candidates
35 years for SC/ST candidates

IAS exam consists of preliminary & main exams

Preliminary exam consists of written exam
Preliminary exam syllabus:
it consists of two papers
no of questions 200
duration 2hrs
paper I:
current affairs
indian pollitical system
general science
history of india

Paper II:
logical reasoning
analytical ability
decision making & problem solving
general mental ability
numerical anility
english language

Main Exam :

it includes 200 marks
the starting date of IAS main exam is from 5th October 2012
IAS main exams consists of general science paper of 600 marks
two optional papers of 600 marks each & a essay paper of 200 marks
there will be 3hrs for each paper

Education Qualification
A candidate having graduation in any of the following subjects Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology are eligible to apply for the IAS exam.

OR
If a candidate having degree in engineering are also also eligible to apply for the IAS exam.

AGE LIMIT
Candidate applying for the IAS exam should have age between 21 to 30 years.
There is a relaxation in age for the reserved category candidates.
For SC/ST relaxation of 5 years.
For OBC candidates relaxation of 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria For IAS Exam :

you are perfectly eligible to give your IAS entrance that is Civil Services Examination.

the eligibility criteria for Civils is


you should have degree from any Indian University.

your nationality must be as indian.

you should have certain age limit..i.e., 21 years of min age

and as you mentioned 50% i think you have a doubt in your mind whether percentage matters or not

absolutely no your percentage doesn't matter no where through out the selection process of civils

so don't worry for it...

Age limits : 21 - 30 yrs.
The candidate must possess a graduate degree from recognized university.

You are eligible for IAS exam.

To become an IAS officer following Eligibility criteria is there:-

1) Educational Qualification:-

The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.


2) Age Limit :-

i. A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
ii. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
a. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
b. upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.
c. upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped candidates.


3) Nationality:-
Only Indian nationals are eligible for IAS and IPS.

4) Number of attempts:-

The maximum number of attempts restriction is effective from the examination held in 1984. In case other eligibility conditions apply:

General candidates: four attempts.
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

a) Candidates may apply Online by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the abovementioned website.

b) Candidate may purchase application form through Post also.

c) The Applications can be filled up to 21st March, 2011.

d) Exam will be on 12th June 2011.

Hello friend,
For IAS, you will need to write Civil Service Examination, conducted by UPSC.
To take the test, you must be a graduate and between the age limit of 21 years to 30 years. The maximum age limit is relaxed upto the age of 35 years for SC/ST and 33 years for OBC.
The application form for the same is available at the designated head post offices and post offices. Apart from offline application form, you may also apply online through www.upsconline.nic.in
The examination has three stages
Preliminary exam/Civil Service Aptitude Test(to be introduced from this year onwards)
Main Exam
Interview

the eligibility for IAS exam is:

so there is no importance of percentage you have got in the exam.

IAS eligibility demands that candidate should have done graduation
from a recognized university or college from any stream.Even final year graduation
students are eligible to apply on a provisional basis.
There is no minimum score/ percentage required whatsoever.
Further the age limit for IAS is 21 to 30 years for general category applicants.
33 for OBC applicants and 35 for SC/ST candidates.
You will get 4 / 7/no limit number of attempts at UPSC CSE for the above category respectively.
Hence you are eligible to apply for IAS/CSE(civil services examination)

Eligibility Criteria :
1.Age limit

21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.

2. Educational Qualifications :


Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification.

3. Number of Attempts
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

4. Restrictions on applying for the examination:
A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination.

Exam Pattern: All India Combined Competitive Examination for the Civil Services conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) comprises of two successive stages:
  • Preliminary Examination: It is of objective type, which is a qualifying examination.
  • Main Examination: It consists of written examination and interview.
