Cut of means total number of student in a exam divided by total marx.

cutoff marks vary from year to year

as the people who appear in different year can have

different average IQ, so a more talented group will mean

higher cutoff that year

compared to an average pool in any other year

also difficulty level of papers is also not the same.

so if more students score good marks then cutoff is kept higher to

reject excess applicants to get only suitable no of candidates

according to the available seats.

anna university told there is change in cuttoff marks because of high marksif cutoff is 197 means it could be 197.5 i cant understand this if cutoff is 161. 75 means what

There is a change in cutoff marks because of high marks Means

if there are More Good Marks secured by Good Students/Genuine students then to manage the ranking List and

according to the Number of seats available in particular University , Board has to Increase the Cut off to Maintain the Neutrality.

cut off marks are the highest marks which are selected as cut off marks
if you score above or exact that much marks then you can get admission in the respective college after appearing in their counselling session ..
