There are number of Medical Colleges in India which offers MBBS course and admission in any of these colleges is based on entrance examinations.
Some of Medical Colleges conducts their own entrance examination whereas other considers students for MBBS course based on their performance in entrance examination conducted by different regulatory bodies. Entrance Examination for MBBS course, apart from medical colleges, is conducted on state level by The Directorate of Medical Education of that particular state and on national level by Central Board of Secondary Education known as All India Pre- Medical/Dental Test. To be eligible for most of the entrance examination, one must have scored an aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and should have studied English in the same level.
