Absolutely true....If anyone is interested in CWA OR CA then he or she required high knowledge in Cost Accountancy, Financial Accounting, Taxation....If anyone having knowledge of these subjects then he can proceed, otherwise not... MBA certificate is comparable to CA OR CWA only if it is received from IIMs..
I m Arsad.. And I am a CMA(CWA) final student..

Re: Difference between MBA Finance and ICWA? Which course is good to join? Qualifications required to join these courses and job opportunities through these courses?

Dear All,

First of all MBA & CWA (CMA) are both different at level. I will brief difference below
1) CWA has signing authority while submission govt. documents as per Govt. of India as Institute is formed under act. Where as MBA has no any signing authority as per Govt. Of India.
2) CWA is compared with CA & CS as its passing is very low at 3% to 5% which is very tough to crack all syllabus of CWA. where as MBA is very easy.
in my opinion, which ever is easy has no value in market as per earning.
3) CWA-inter can be compared with MBA
4) Currently CWA has taken initiative for industrial training and work experience which give boost to your career. Where as MBA has only industrial training.
5) CWA can be done only through only 1 institute in India where as MBA can be done easily from anywhere.
6) after 10-15 years of experience CWA can start their own practicing firms where as MBA can not do.

So In my opinion CWA is good career choice than MBA. And MBA can not be compare with CWA unless and until MBA degree should be received from IIMs.

Re: Difference between MBA Finance and ICWA? Which course is good to join? Qualifications required to join these courses and job opportunities through these courses?

Hi
I have done my MBA in finance and working for an MNC. with 3 years of experience I could get only 3 lacs P.A. While I was persuing my Graduation in B.com, I have completed One stage in inter in ICWA. As soon as i joined MBA, i couldn't find time to concentrate on ICWA and left it like that. Soon after I did MBA i got a Job. Now to improve in my career, what should I need to do? Do I get any huge hike in the salary if I finish off my ICWA or I should choose some other courses in managemant so that it helps me in moving in the same Management line. Please suggest.

NO its not like that, now the syllabus of cwa is more enriched...Nowdays the MBA's(except from top collages) has losing its value as der r n no of mba's in the market and the avg sal is 13k-15 k.on the contrary the passing rate of cwa is just 3%-5 %,so the no of cwa available in the market is very less, and the avg std packg is minimun 3 lakhs p.a for fresher(obviously it depends on the candidate also to crack interview).in the final v have fin mngt, cap mrkt, bus valuation,fa and reporting tax, cost audit etc.so it provides u a widened horizon as compared to mba.

ICWA is the course of cost & accounting term where MBA in finance is quite near to accountant & management course. both the course have their own value. you can choose anyone of both as per your interest.

Re: Difference between MBA Finance and ICWA? Which course is good to join? Qualifications required to join these courses and job opportunities through these courses?

hi dear

CWA will definitely open good career opportunities both here and elsewhere. I have seen some MBA grads taking up CWA to give a boost to their career when compared to just having an MBA degree. With regard to choosing between CWA and your job offer, consider the career options you will have after completion of CWA and the career growth you will have with the present job. Rs. 17,000 is definitely a good amount to start with as of now (again this would depend on the area/city/region). But you will have to look beyond this before you decide.

With regard to options in CWA, it would be best that you talk to someone who is a practising CWA to get the best possible view. Here I can only give you a brief overview regarding the openings people have after CWA. You get openings in manufacturing industry (since they require Cost and Works Accountants), banking and insurance firms, tax consulting firms, corporates and multinationals, IT (as ERP consultants), etc. In addition, you can start your own consulting firm. So the scope of job opportunities would increase considerably and so does the pay option. Hence I cannot comment on the pay as it will depend on the field you are likely to get into.

Difference between MBA Finance and ICWA? Which course is good to join? Qualifications required to join these courses and job opportunities through these courses?

What is the difference between mba (finance) and ICWA? Which one is good to do,what type of jobs one will get after doing these and what are the qualifications required? ICWA is of how many years course? I have completed B.Com and now Iam very confused that shall I do MBA (specialised Finance and Accounts) or ICWA, as someone has suggested me to do ICWA.
