Eligibility

The best jobs in Merchant Navy are officer level jobs in Engineering and navigational fields. To get one of these, candidate is required to pursue either B.Tech in Marine Engineering or B.Sc in Nautical Science.

1. To apply these courses you need to pass 12th standard with PCM as the subjects.

2. You also need at least 60 percent marks in 12th board.

3. Those interested in B.Tech would require to appear in entrance exams like IIT-JEE.

4. The age limit is 20 years as on September 1 of the admission year.

5. There is five years relaxation in upper age for SC/ST.

6. Both genders are welcome to join but they should be unmarried at the time of admission.

7. You would have to go through medical test.

8. Some physical requirements include 6/6 vision, no color blindess, height should be at least 150cm.


Direct Entry

You are eligible for the direct entry in the Marine Engineering therefore read the below section carefully.

You can apply for Deck Cadet job for which you will have to go through pre-sea training. This training is arranged by the recruiting company and only after passing the training course, you would get the job.

If you have scored very good marks in your 10+2 class than you can apply for the Merchant Navy after taking the NDA exam conducted by UPSC in twice in a year...
For the exam Your age should be above from 17.5 years and below from 21 years...
You should be a citizen of India.
You should be physical fit and fine..
