Age limit for IAS, IPS & PCS exam for general category?

Hi,

I am completed 32 year on 15 July 2014. Am I eligible for IPS exam ? Can you provide me brief description of age for IAS, IPS and PCS exam for general category.

IAS means Indian Administrative Services is the exam for recruitment conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility for the exam :
Nationality : Indian

Educational Qualification : Graduate in any discipline from any recognised university .

Age Limit :

21 to 30 years for general category.

Age relaxation :

3 years for O.B.C

5 years for SC/ST


Number of attempts for the exam :

General category : 4
O.B.C : 7
SC/ST : infinite

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. This exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission once in a year.

ELIGIBILITY:

Age limit:

The age limit should be between 21 to 30 years.

The age relaxation for the other categories.

3 years age relaxation for the OBC.

5 years for the Sc/st.

The candidate should complete the Graduation from any recognized university.

No marks percentage required for this exam.

Both male and female candidates are eligible.

For this you must have a gradution degree.

The age limit for IAS exam is different for different candidate which are AS follow:-

21-30 year for general
21-33 year for obc
21-35 year for sc/st candidate

There is no age relaxation given to given candidates. Additional age relaxation is given to oSC,ST and OBC candidates.

- 3 year age relaxation to OBC.
- 5 year age relaxation to SC and ST candidates.

1. Four attempts to GEN
2. Seven attempts to OBC and
3. No limit for SC and ST

The UPSC board is very particular about age limit of the candidates they made perfect rules and regulations to the candidates. who are appearing for the exam.

the age requirements for CSE is.

min age limit is 21 years.

max age limit is 30 years for the general category..

no more reservations regarding any category..

hello friend .....
the age limit for the IAS exam conducted by the UPSC is about 21 - 30 years for the general category candidates
and there is the upper age relaxation for the OBC and the SC/ST candidates
for the OBC there is an age relaxation of 3 years
and for the SC/ST there an age relaxation of the 5 years ...

and the age limit for the general category students remains the same till date there is no change in it ......

The age limitation criteria for the civil services exam is as follows:-

-> General category :- 21-30 years.

-> SC/ST category :- 21-35 years.

-> OBC category :- 21-33 years.

The minimum educational qualification required is to be a graduate.

General categories get 4 , Sc/St get unlimited , while OBC get 7 attempts to clear the exam.

IAS exam is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission ) every year.

In order to be eligible for the exam, one should be in the following age group.

-For general category : 21-30 years.

-For OBC, relaxation upto 3 years. So maximum age limit is 33 years.

-For SC/ST category, there is relaxation upto 5 years. So maximum age limit is 35 years.

There is no relaxation at all for the candidates of General category.

The age limit for IAS OR CIVIL SERVICE EXAM is the same as UPSC decides in the earlier exams. Nothing has been reduced in the age limit of general candidates. The age limit is 21 to 30 years for general category. SC,ST,OBC,HANDICAPPED etc. Will gets age relaxation as per govt. Rules and regulation. this is the exam conducted for the candidates all over india for placing them into different services.

this exam is conducted by UPSC.

It is still 21 to 30 years.

The no. of attempts allowed for general category student is 4.

Also you should be a graduate or should be in final year of graduation.

There is no relaxation for general category.They are only for SC,ST and others.

With the Change in the format of the Civil Service Exam, the maximum age limit was supposed to be reduced but has not been yet.Till date the age limit for the same are as follows.
General Candidate- 21 years- 30 years
SC/ST- 21 years- 35 years
OBC- 21 years - 33 years.

Age Limit


i. A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

ii. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
a. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
b. upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.
c. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during the period between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989.
d. upto a maximum of 3 years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled during hostilities with foreign countries or in a disturbed area and consequently released.
e. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs / SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on August 1 of the year of examination and have been released:
on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from August 1 of the year of examination) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or
on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or
on invalidment.
f. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ECOs / SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment (5 years Military Service) as on August 1 of the year of examination and whose assignment has been extended beyond 5 years. Such candidates will have to provide a certificate from the Ministry of Defence stating that they can apply for civil employment and they will be released on a notice of 3 months, upon selection, from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.
g. upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped candidates.

Age Condition for IAS Exam:
your age must be 21 years completed on 1st august of the year in which you are appearing for IAS exam.
For general category it's 30 year.

IAS exam is a standard and well known exam , which conducted by upsc that is union public service commission. The notification are made available on the official website of upsc that is www.upsc.gov.in .The qualification in terms of age for appearing in this exam is as follows :
(1)FOR GENERAL CATEGORY STUDENTS- 21 to 30 years . there is no provision of relaxation in terms of age for general category students.
(2)FOR OBC CANDIDATES-There is a provision of relaxation upto 3 years for obc students.
(3)SC/ST CANDIDATES-For sc/st candidates the relaxation is available upto 5 years.

SO THERE IS NO PROVISION OF AGE RELAXATION FOR GENERAL CATEGORY STUDENTS . RELAXATION ARE AVAILABLE FOR ONLY OBC AND SC/ST CANDIDATES.

UPSC IAS EXAM:
Age limit: 21 - 30 years for General category.

  • 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing.
  • Maximum 30 for general category,
  • 33 for OBCs and
  • 35 for SCs/STs .
  • Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.

Your doubt is not unfounded.
Administrative Reforms Committee of UPSC has indeed given suggestions
for reducing the age of candidates to Central Administrative Tribunal.
In due course of time, the tribunal will scrutinize the suggestion and
if found valid, it will be put in force.
But as of now, the current age range of 21 to 30 years holds good.

To become an IAS, you have to appear for the Civil Service exam conducted by the UPSC for the Central Government of India.

*Now the minimum eligiblity requires a candidate to attain minimum 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of the exam.

*The upper age limit for General category candidates is 30 Years.
While the same is relaxed upto 33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST.

Also, general Category candidates can apply only 4 times, while OBC can apply 7 times and SC/St have no limit.

Maximum age criteria = 28yrs (for General category and I think it is 32 years for SC/ ST categories)

Minimum education criteria = Graduate
