Re: During my B.Tech ECE vacations should I take coaching for GATE exam or for communication skills?

Its a very good choice to prepare for the GATE .

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national examination which is conducted by eight zones such that One Indian Institute of Science(IISc),Bangalore
and the Seven IITs(Bombay,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Guahati,Roorkee,Madra s,Delhi)

so,if you crack the GATE exam and score a very good number ,you will be able to such institutions and you will reach in a high profiled carrier.

Another advantage of cracking GATE is:

1:The GATE exam will lead you to the specialization for Ph.D,R & D field.

2:Scholarship:

As per Govt. rule after achieving the GATE valid score i.e. minimum 90 percentile, you will be able to take admission in Govt. Colleges for the master degree.

After having admission you will paid a scholarship of Rs.8000/- per month by the Government of India. The scholarship is paid for the entire 18 months of master degree.

It may be increased according to your project ,so the scholarship may be up to Rs.12,000/- per month.

otherwise, if you think your English communication is little bit slow, then you can go for any English Communication course.

Choose as you like.
