Re: How to become a collector through IAS?

You can become a collector only through the UPDC examination.
The first eligibility criteria is you need to be above 21 years of age to apply for the exam.
Secondly any candidate who has completed graduation from a recognised Indian University is eligible to apply .

So after the conditions being fulfilled you need to go through the three phases of Upsc which takes almost a year to complete . The process are as follows:
Prelims - qualifying exam
Mains-subjective
Interview-personality test.
Even cllearing all these won't ensure you IAS if you have not scored good marks and in the top rank list among the top 100 if you are a general candidate.
There is reservation applicable for certain castes.

Re: How to become a collector through IAS?

It is good to see your interest toward the collector.Definitely you can go for the IAS officer. For this you have to appear in the civil service exam which is conducted by the UPSC every year. This exam held in the following three stages:-

Preliminary.
Mains.
Interview.

The basic eligibility criteria for this exam is to have a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university with good percentile. Also the appearing aspirants age must lie in between 21 years to 30 years as GE category to be eligible for this course.

The reserved category aspirants like Sc/St get the relaxation by 5 years and the obc category aspirants get the relaxation by 3 years. There is no limit to attempt the exam for Sc/St/PD aspirants. For Obc aspirants 7 attempts are given and for general it is 4.

Final years aspirants are also eligible to write in this exam so definitely you can give this exam on your third year.

Re: How to become a collector through IAS?

hi friend,

It is true that the only way to be collector is to crack IAS exam. And it is also a good decision which has been taken by in pre-final year.
Actually from now IAS exam is divided into three new steps:
I. Prelim exam : which consists of two papes. Paper one related to general science/knowledge/indian history and india's political and geographical points.
Paper two is related to Quantitative analysis, verbal-reasoning in english language etc.
II. Main exam : You have to select an optional subject along with the two language subjects eg: hindi and english.
III. Interview: It is personal type of interview, not a group interview.

thanks
