Successful candidates are commissioned as Short Service Commissioned (SSC) officers in the AFMS and serve as medical professionals in the Indian Air Force. Short Service Commission (SSC) in Medical Branch: The Indian Air Force also offers opportunities for medical graduates to join as SSC officers in the Medical Branch. These positions include specialist doctors (like physicians, surgeons, gynecologists, anesthetists, etc.) as well as general duty medical officers (GDMOs). The selection process involves a written examination, interview, and medical fitness tests. Postgraduate Medical/Dental Education: Medical graduates who have completed postgraduate degrees (MD/MS/MDS) can also join the Indian Air Force as commissioned officers.
