Re: How to do LLB through correspondence? How to get admission for LLB?

Hello,
i've done my B.A form "Open State Karnataka University(OSKU)". And now i want to take admission in LLB course, but the problem is OSKU provided me a bridge course therefor i don't have 2 certificate instead of it having a bridge course certificate. Now am unable to take admission anywhere in Punjab's Universities.
Now my question are following:-
1) Could you please let me know that is there any university out there, who recognize this Bridge Course? and dose that University provided distance education?
2) If no, Could you guided me that if i do 2 now. and try to take admission there after. is that possible?
3) And if there is any other way which can make me out of this situation than please state it... I Shall be more than thankful to you.
If you are having a doubt on questions that i asked or need anything to make situation clear you may ask me on "[email protected]".
Thanks in Advance.

as you want to pursue LLB i would strongly recommend you to go through regular college for LLB because LLB through distance learning does not get recognition from bar council of India , which means obtaining a degree from open learning will be a waste for your time

so don't go through correspondence because you will not be allowed to practice in court, so go for LLB from regular college

if you want to pursue LLB from Delhi then university of Delhi will be best option for you, it has LLB courses in its both campus i.e south as well as north

some of the best university for LLB is Delhi university, banaras Hindu university ,govt law college Mumbai,

eligibility criteria for 3 year llb cousre :

must have completed a graduation degree

must have 45 to 50% in graduation

5% relaxation for sc/st candidates

no relaxation for obc candidates

no requirement of marks for sc/st candidates in du

maximum age limit is 30 years

5 year age relaxation for sc/st candidates

so think for llb from a regular college instead of open learning

good luck

I will strongly recommend against applying for LLB through distance education even from the IGNOU. At present the LLB course completed via distance education or correspondence is not accepted by the Bar Council of India.

It would be a very bad move to go for correspondence degree. Since the LLB is only offered through regular mode, you will end up doing some other Law degree. As a result Bar Council of India will not accept it.

Which literally means that you will not be allowed to practice in court. Even companies may not hire you as the legal advisor. However some small time firm may do that but the chances are very slim.

This is the reason why I strongly recommend against doing LLB through correspondence. You should instead do it through regular mode. There is a minimum attendence requirement of 80 percent to appear for examinations in LLB course.

I will ask you to try to take admission for LLB in Delhi University or Banaras Hindu University instead of doing it from IGNOU. DU will be best the option if you want to take admission in Delhi.

There is a entrance exam conducted in June/July by Delhi University for 3 years LLB course. Admission in Banaras Hindu University is also given through a entrance exam. But there are several colleges, especially in Mumbai and Pune that will offer you admission on merit. There will be no need to appear for entrance exam.

LLB Eligibility

1. You must have completed graduation.

2. With no less than 45 percent marks.

3. Some colleges may require 50 percent marks.

4. SC/ST get 5 percent relaxation.

5. However in DU there is no marks criteria for them.

6. OBC do not get any relaxation.

7. You should be less than 30 years to apply.

8. 5 years relaxation is given to SC/ST.

Re: How to do LLB through correspondence? How to get admission for LLB?

There are many Universities offering distance education LLB course in India. You can get admission into these college when the admission notification are released for the course.

But if you want to become a top lawyer then i would advice you to go for Regular LLB course because Bar Council of India may restrict you if you have a distance education LLB degree.

So it is upto you to decide whether you want to do a regular course or a distance education course. If you do a regular course then it will give you real exposure but in a distance education it will be only upto you.

The admission into regular course is based on entrance exam and you have to perform very well in the exam to get admission into a top college.

Some of the top Law colleges for distance education LLB are given below:

-National Law School of India University (NlSIU), Bangalore

-Govt College of Law, University of Mumbai

-Faculty of Law, BHU, Varanasi

-University College of Law, Bangalore

-Symbiosis Society's Law College, Pune

-Faculty of Law, AMU, Aligarh

-Bangalore University for Legal Studies, Bangalore

-Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Delhi

-Faculty of Law, University of Madras, Chennai

-I L S Law College, Pune
