Re: Which stream should I choose to become an engineer after 10th?

To become an good engineer you will have to go for science stream with physics, chemistry and mathematics as your main subjects in your 12th .

Also you will have to score good marks in your respective board and also look to crack entrance examinations like for admission in the good government colleges or private colleges with good trades .

Friend if you go for biology instead of mathematics as the main subjects in your 12th still you have the option for becoming good engineer in the trades like Biochemical engineering , Biotechnology , Microbiology etc. .

For mathematics students some of the trades with good scope are here under :-

Electrical & electronics engineering .

Electrical & communication engineering .

Mechanical engineering .

Computer science engineering .

Civil engineering .

Marine engineering .

Aeronautical engineering , etc. .

So , first try to secure good marks in your 12th and competitive examination and go for the trade in which you are interested for your engineering course .

Re: Which stream should I choose to become an engineer after 10th?

If you want to become Engineer then you will have to choose science stream in 11th standard. To be more precise you must select Phyiscs, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 10+2 if you want to become Engineer.

Only after it you can appear for the entrance exams conducted for Engineering admission. You will have to appear for entrance exam to get admission for Engineering course.

There are several entrance exams to choose from. Some example are:

AIEEE

IIT-JEE

ISEET

GUJ-CET

BITSAT

UPSEE

Which exam to choose depends on you. If you want admission in IITs or NITs then ISEET is the exam for you. It has replaced AIEEE and IIT-JEE entrance exam.

Apart from ISEET you have the option to appear for engineering entrance exam of your own state. For example UPSEE is for Uttar Pradesh. However there is a possibility that your state might have decided to replace its own entrance exam with ISEET.

In such case you will appear for ISEET and will get 2 separate rankings. First would be All India level, while second would be for the state level.

ISEET Eligibility

1. You will have to complete 12th standard from recognized board.

2. Physics, Chemistry and Maths should be the subjects.

3. 40 percent or more marks in 12th standard.

Re: Which stream should I choose to become an engineer after 10th?

You must for Physics, Chemistry and Maths in 10+2 if you want to become an Engineer in future.

So opt for PCM stream and after 10+2 completion you will be eligible to apply for Entrance examination for Engineering courses.

Try to get good marks in 10+2 because the entrance examination may decide a certain percentage of marks for eligibility.

So take admission in a good school with above subject combination and start preparing for the entrance from now onwards.

The syllabus of 11th and 12th class are very important when you are preparing for the entrance examination.

The top colleges for doing engineering courses are IITs and NITs. You have to get a very good rank then only you can get these colleges after the counselling.

After 10th you can't go for engineering because minimum educational qualification required is +2 i.e, 12th class.

So if you want to do engineering then you should think about it after 2 years. or else you can go for ITI after 10th.

Re: Which stream should I choose to become an engineer after 10th?

Hi Guest,

After 10th you cannot get into engineering in direct.

You need to give an exam for the entrance of engineering courses.

There are many entrance exams in India for the admission of the courses.

You need to give any of the entrance exams.

After giving it you can take admission if you score good marks.

The eligibility criteria for these exams are completion of 12th Standard.

Thank you,

All the best.

We are happy to see your interest in the engineering field. After completing 10th class you need to chose the 12th class with PCM stream.....!!

To admission in the engineering field you need to appear in the engineering entrance examination. There are many entrance examination like IIT JEE, KIITEE, VITEE, WBJEE, ORJEE...... and many other is conducted for the admission in the engineering course. You can also appear in the entrance examination in the appearing of 12th board exam.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is the best college of India which provide standard quality education and batter facility to the own student. To admission in the any IIT college of India you need to qualify IIT JEE entrance examination. The competition is really tough so work hard to get success in the IIT JEE entrance examination.

I advise you to first take admission in the 12th class then think about the IIT JEE entrance examination. I wish you will definitely get success in the entrance examination.

Hello Dear,

Its a very crucial stage for making rigth decision for your career.

To become a Engineer in future the best thing is you go for PCM group in 11th and 12th.

After that go for Exams like :

IIT-JEE (The best exam for getting top institutes of INDIA like all IITs, NITs and IISc, Bangalore )

AIEEE Exam for good universities across INDIA.

and Different CET exams in every state for getting seats in state colleges.

Otherwise you can also go for management seats in any Private colleges by paying fees they demand.

Note : Maintain atleast 60% in any of your grade either 10 or 12th.

Another option is that you can do diploma 3 yrs after 10th and then opt for B tech through LEET exam and after diploma you can continue B tech from 2nd year onwards.

But I suggest 12th is better It has larger scope for you.

ALSO DECIDE WHICH ENGINEERING FIELD YOU WANTS AND FIND OUT WHERE YOUR INTEREST LIES IN THESE 2 YEARS OF 11TH AND 12TH CLASS.

SO ALL THE VERY BEST!!

My dear friend,

If you want to go for engineering field after 10th then you have to go for diploma because only after diploma you can choose any of the stream in engineering.

If you want to go for engineering after 12th then you have to give the AIEEE entrance exam.AIEEE stands for All India Engineering Entrance Exam but now AIEEE comes in the form of JEE.

JEE has two papers:

1.JEE-Main
2.JEE-Advance

If the students want to get an admission in college or university then he/she had to give the JEE-MAIN entrance exam but they want to go for IIT or NIT then they have to give the JEE-Advance entrance exam after cracking the JEE-MAIN.

There are various streams of Engineering and you can choose any one according to your choice and interest. The streams in engineering are as follows:

Streams in engineering:

1.COmputer science engineering
2.Information technology
3.Civil Engineering
4.Mechanical Engineering
5.Aeronautical Engineering
6.Food technology
7.Biotechnology
8.Electrical Engineering
9.Electronics and communication Engineering
10.Nanotechnology
and many more.

Re: Which stream should I choose to become an engineer after 10th?

heloo friend,

Engineering is a great profession which involves a number of sub fields having great scope in today's technical market of government areas or of private sectors.

To join engineering course after 10th,you have two options :

--Joining diploma course after which you may do b.tech or b.e.e directly into 2nd year.

--Joining b.tech or b.e. after 12th through different entrance exams.

From my opinion you must do 12th,because after 12th you have different many colleges where you may take admission by qualifying their entrance exams

but by joining diploma courses there are many more institutes or colleges where you can't take admissions and those colleges are considered on the top of the india's engineering top colleges list as those are :

IIT's

NIT's

IIIT's

BITS etc.

STREAMS IN ENGINEERING :-

Aeronautical / Aerospace Engineering
Architecture & Construction
Automobile Engineering
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Computer Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Instrumentation Engineering
Bio-Medical Engineering
Textile Engineering
Industrial Engineering etc.

good luck !!

You need to select science stream to become an engineer. Pass in 12th with Physics Chemistry and mathematics as subjects is the basic qualification required for B.Tech. You need to study Biology as one of the subjects to join with B.Tech streams in Biochemical engineering, Biotechnology, etc. Admissions are done on the basis of entrance exams. Preparation for clearing the same can be started from 11th class onwards.
