If you have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Architecture/Design or its equivalent or masters degree in science department then are eligible for GATE exam. There are no restriction for attempts in GATE exam. You can apply any number of time. There is no age criteria but your minimum age must be above 18 years. GATE stipend during the M.Tech degree is 8,000/- per month. |

Now the Financial aid is given by the UGC for GATE qualified candidates who are interested to study in the different Colleges/Universities for Masters in Engineering and Technology. Earlier it was taken by the AICTE for the Eligible candidates in the GATE score. The stipend was about Rs. 8000/month. So as per the norms of AICTE the qualified candidates of GATE get that much amount per month. And coming to the GATE score any candidate who secured the good marks more than cut off can have a chance to apply for both Higher Studies and the Employment opportunity in the various PSU's. In fact GATE examination is conducted by the " IIT's " every year. For the details regarding the GATE Notification details you can visit the Official website of UGC. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test of Engineering and the examination is conducted by the IIT for students who want to take admission in the M.Tech courses or even it will give you jobs in the PSU . The cut off marks for different stream students is different and also the examination is online based . The students who qualifies in the GATE examination are given stipend for there higher studies courses of ₹ 12,400 . There is reservation for different category students on the cut off marks . |

University Grants Commission in the month of December 2014 revised the stipend paid to the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering qualified candidates. Now anyone who has qualified GATE entrance exam and is doing Master's degree in technology from any college will be given a stipend of Rs 12,400 per month. The previous stipend was Rs 8000. |

It is entrance exam conducted by Indian Institute of Technology for selection of candidates for master's degree in technology from different institutes like: >>Indian Institute of Technology. >>National Institute of Technology. >>Government Engineering colleges. >>Private Institutes and Universities. The score card of GATE exam also serves as short listing criteria for many Public Sector Undertakings. The earlier stipend for GATE qualified students was Rs 8000. But in December 2014, UGC raised the stipend by 55% and the present stipend that will be given to the GATE qualified students is Rs 12,400 per month. |
