After completion of B.Com degree, you can apply for Defence sector through CDS exam.

CDS stands for COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE

The educational qualification and age criteria for CDS exam is given below-

To enter the Indian Military Academy you need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should be in between 19 to 23 years.

To enter the Air Force Academy you need to get a B.Sc degree with physics or mathematics or a bachelor's degree in engineering/technology and your age should be in between 19 to 23 years.

To enter the Naval Academy you need to have a B.E./B.Tech degree in engineering or technology or a bachelor's degree in science with physics or mathematics and your age should be in between 19 to 22 years.

To enter the Officer's Training Academy you need to complete your graduation in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should be in between 19 to 25 years.

You are pursuing first year of bachelor's degree in commerce, so you are at present not eligible to appear for any entrance exam that will give you opportunity to join Indian Defense Sector.

However during your final year of bachelor's degree in commerce, you will be eligible to appear for the Combined Defense Services exam.

Commerce candidates are eligible for Indian Military academy and Officer's Training academy.

The age limit for IMA is 19-24 years and for Officer's Training academy age limit is 19-25 years.

Both unmarried male and female candidate can apply for the course.

Yes,you can join Defense Sector being a Commerce student.

You can get into Defense sector through NDA exam and CDS exam.

For the NDA exam,the eligibility criteria are;

-The candidate must be a citizen of India.

-The age limit for the candidate is 16.5 years to 19 years.

-Only unmarried male candidate can apply for the exam.

-The qualification required to join NDA is 12th class of 10+2 education system from a recognized board for Indian Military Academy and 10+2 with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics for Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.

For CDS exam,the eligibility criteria are;

-The candidate must be a citizen of India.

-The candidate age limit to apply for the exam is from 19 years to 25 years.

-The candidate should have passed Graduation in any discipline for Indian Military Academy/Officer's Training Academy,Bachelor of Engineering for Indian Naval Academy and 10+2 level degree with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering for Indian Air Force Academy.
