I am lucky Rathoure passed out 12 with P C M. Age 17years height 165cm but weight is 72kgm. Can I join NDA exam

# It is nice to know that you are willing to join Indian Air Force as pilot.

# Now you have two ways before you in order to join Indian Air Force which are:

* National Defence Academy (NDA) Examination
* Open Recruitment Drives conducted by Indian Air Force from time to time

# Prescribed educational qualification:

* F or NDA Examination: 10+2 in any stream from any recognised board. Percentage of marks no bar.

* For Open Recruitment Drives: 10+2 in Physics & Mathematics with 70% marks in aggregates.

# Age limit prescribed:

* For NDA Examination: 16.5-19 years
* For Open Recruitment Drives: 17.5-21 years

# Required other common eligibility conditions:

* 165 cms of height
* 6/6 or 6/9 vision
* Citizenship of India
* Unmarried status
* Sex must be male only
* Excellent physical fitness
* Moral antecedent record

To join in as a Commercial pilot in Indian Air Force there are certain qualification which you need to possess.

# First of all the candidate should have a citizenship in India.

# The next thing to be noted is that candidate should have got Student Pilot License (SPL) which will be offered for candidates who have completed their respected +2 from a recognized school board of education. For registeration in SPL you need to have medical certificate, security clearance and a bank guarantee.

# After having a Student Pilot Licence, the next step is to get a Private Pilot License (PPL) which requires sixty hours of flying.

# The age limit needed is 17 years.

To become a Commercial pilot and get a Commercial Pilots License (CPL) you need to have 250 hours of flying which includes 60 hours for the PPL.

Height required to become Commercial Pilot in Indian Air Force is 162.5 cms.

Minimum length for Leg is 99 cm and maximum is 120 cm.

Thigh Length: Maximum 64 cm

Sitting Height: Min. 81.5 cm and Max 96 cm

Since you have asked about the height, so we will be keeping our discussion limited to the physical standards only which are required to be eligible ion the Indian air force.

The standards are (for men) -

- Min Height- 162.5 cm with weight accordingly

- Leg length- 90 - 120 cms

- Sitting height- 80 cms minimum

- For pilot, the eyes should be 6/6.

- For other jobs like observer or engineer, the margin is given till 6/9 with LASIK operation allowed only under the circumstances that it should be more than 1 year old.

- No color blindness allowed

The Indian Air Force which offers immense facilities, a privilege grand life style and of course the honor of serving one's country. The candidate can join for training by appearing for either NDA or CDS exam. Graduate can join if they have NCC 'C' certificate.

Qualifying Exams:

NDA exam : conducted by UPSC. Student must have at least 10+2 standards to be eligible for this exam. Exam is conducted twice a year usually in the month of April and September.

CDS exam : conducted by UPSC. Graduates are eligible to appear for this exam.

NCC candidates with a 'C' certificate and with a graduate degree will be selected as regular commissioner officer. The candidates need not to apply for the above exam but have to face interview round conducted by SSB before being selected.

Other Eligibility Criteria :

** Height is the essential requirement to become a pilot in Air Force. Your height should not be less than 162.5 cm and your weight should be proportionate to your weight.

** Chest should be fully expanded upto 5 cms from normal.

** Eye sight should be normal 6/6 correct vision

** Should be physically and mentally fit

** Most important must hold a valid license and should be an Indian Citizen.
