UPSC conducts the Civil Service examination for the various Post like IAS/IFS/IPS etc.This exam conducts in the following three stages:-


Preliminary.
Mains.
Interview.

The basic eligibility criteria for this exam is to have a bachelor degree course in any stream from a recognised university with good percentile. Also the appearing aspirant's age must lie in between 21 year to 30 years to be completely eligible for this exam.

The SC/ST students can apply upto 35 years because they get the age relaxation by 5 years.The Obc category students can apply upto 33 years since they get the relaxation by 3 years.

Upsc conducts the Civil Service examination every year as preliminary, mains and interview. On the basis of performance in overall three stages you will get the post like IAS/IPS etc.

The eligibility for this exam is to have a graduation degree course in any stream from a recognised university with good percentile. The age must be lie as 21 years to 30 years for the GE category. For obc it is max upto 33 and for Sc/St it is max upto 35 years.

Hello

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. It is a premier civil administration exam conducted in India. It is a toughest exam in India and a lot hard work is needed to pass the exam.

Eligibility for IAS :
The eligibility includes like nationality, age limit, no.of attempts to write the exam, qualification.

Nationality :
1. A candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. A subject of Nepal, Bhutan or refugee of Tibet etc

Qualification :
1. A candidate must complete bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

Age limit :
1. A candidate must complete 21 years of age.
2. The maximum age limit is 32 years.
3. SC/ST candidates will get 5 years age relaxation.
4. OBC candidates will get 3 years age relaxation.

No. of attempts to give for IAS exam :
1. General and OBC candidates can write only up 9 times.
2. There is no such limit for SC/ST candidates .

Hi.. i'm from village area.. my childhood dream is to become an IAS officer.. but i didn't get proper guidance to achive it.. and presently i'm pursuing 3rd B.E mech.. so plz suggest me how to apply, best coaching centres, books to be reffered and more.. plz guide me .. thank you

To apply for this exam you need to satisfy the framed crtierai for the exam and the criteria's are as follows;

~ Education Qualification

IAS exams are conducted by UPSC every year. You must have graduation degree from a recognized university for IAS.

Eligibility criteria in Details:
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.
If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

Civil Services Preliminary Exam date:19.05.2013

Civil Service Main Exam Date : 08.11.2013

>>Paper on Indian Language - Total Number of Marks 300.
These Languages are:-
Assamese,Bengali,Gujrati,Hindi,Kannada,Kashmiri,Ko nkani,Marathi,
Malayam,Manipuri,
Nepali,Oriya,Punjabi,Sanskrit,Sindhi,Tamil,Telugu, Urdu.
(You will have to select any One Language)
>>English - Total Number of Marks 300.
>>Essay - Total Number of Marks 300.
>>General Studies(Two Paper) - Each of 300 Marks.
>>Optional subject(Selected by you as from the listed subjects) - Each of 300 Marks.

The exam for Indian Administrative Service is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.The Eligibility details of the exam is as follows:
Candidates must have completed graduation from any recognized university.
Minimum 21 years of age.
The maximum age allowed is 30 years.
Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
5 years for SC/ST Candidates.
3 years for OBC candidates.
10 years for physically handicapped candidates.


The above mentioned are the eligibility details of the I.A.S Exam.

EXAM PATTERN
Coming to the exam pattern,there are 3 stages totally involved.They are:
1.PRELIMINARY Examination.
2.Main Examination.
3.Interview.

Every round is a knockout round and candidates who are qualified in the preliminary exam are only eligible for the Main Examination.After the Main Examination there will be an Interview which is the final stage of the examination.

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:
For a General category student-4,
For an OBC Candidate - 7 attempts.
For a SC/ST Candidate- No limit.

UPSC -Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Service Exam every year for IAS/IPS/IES/IFS etc.

So to become an IAS(Indian Administrative Officer) officer, one has to crack Civil Service Exam.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

The Civil Service Exam can be applied through both off line and on line mode.

Through off line the application form can be obtained from General Post offices and through on line mode it is obtained through official web site of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsconline.com by paying requisite fee for the exam.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

About Civil Services Examination:

For this year UPSC Civil services examination Notification was already Published and the last date of apply for this examination was already Over.

For this year Preliminary examination is going to be conducted soon on 20/May/2012.

The examination is conducted in 2 Stages :

~~ Preliminary Examination
~~ Main examination

Firstly you have to cracked the Preliminary examination, this examination is Objective and there are 2 papers in this examination and if you cracked this examination, then you are eligible for Main examination.

To apply for This examination, your age should between 21 to 30 years, upper age limit will be relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, by 3 years for candidates of OBC.

You will get Limited chance to cracked this examination, if you failed to cracked this examination in the given Attempts, then you cant apply for this examination again.


Number of Attempts :

~~ For General candidates : 4 Attempts
~~ For OBC Candidates : 7 Attempts
~~ For SC/ST : No Limits

So, If you have completed your Graduation then you are eligible for this examination. Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination.
