Hello friend,

Now a days, nearly almost all exams have NEGATIVE MARKING in their question paper.

Candidates generally attempt all the questions who are not aware of tackling or solving the question paper and ultimately it results to loss of marks due to Negative Marking.

So, if you are not sure about the answer of the question. Then, it would be better for you to leave that question and proceed further for next question.

As far as my knowledge, state entrance exams are don't contain negative marking while Central Level exams contain negative marking.

Exams having Negative Marking
  • JEE MAINS
  • JEE Advanced
  • AIPMT
  • BITSAT
  • VITEEE
  • CPMT

Exams not having Negative Marking
  • UPSEE
  • MP-PET
  • KITEE

Re: Does competitive exams have negative marking? How to ensure get more marks with exams having negative marking?

# Today, almost all competitive examinations have the provision of negative marking.

# As per general rule, there is provision of deduction of marks from total marks obtained for each and every incorrect or wrong response/answer.

# The amount of marks deducted for every incorrect answer varies from examination to examination.

# It is advisable to the candidate that one should not go to attempt those question in which one is not sure.

# In order to avoid giving wrong/incorrect answer, one should do better preparation for the examination. As better preparation of the examination, minimize the chances of wrong answer which ultimate helps in deduction of marks.

# Candidate should solve out more and more model question papers which helps in evaluating the one's strength and weakness. So one should plan his preparation as per his strength and weakness.
