Re: What is the difference between School and board exams?

Exam dates for school-based board exams can be chosen by the school, however they must be held within a deadline set by the CBSE.Exams given at schools and those given by boards differ in how the answer papers are assessed. The board uses a specific marking method to evaluate the answer sheets in board exams. The test takers' answer papers for school-based exams will be assessed by school personnel. The CBSE will conduct a random check on the graded papers. Class 10 students who do not want to continue with the CBSE in later courses can take school-based exams. However, board-based exams are the best option because they will give candidates experience writing the board exams, and question paper sets for 10th board exams are readily available for preparation. You can practise taking a standardised test. In all honesty, the CBSE board exams prepare you for future exams like the 12th grade boards, JEE, AIPMT, or any other nationalised admission exam. You can learn about your potential and work towards it thanks to the impartial correction provided by the CBSE boards. You can use this as a decision-making resource.

Re: What is the difference between School and board exams?

Dear Friend
There is huge difference between school exam and Board Exam that are as follows:
i)The major difference is that board exam result will affect you in your whole education life. Eg a) when you will try to get admission in best +2 school your board result will be considered for the admission.b)To appear in some of the entrance examination of medical and engineering examination there is certain cut off marks of board and +2 exam is considered to fill the form of exam. But after Board Exam there is no value of your school result.
ii)In school exam checker of your paper is your known teacher but in board exam checker is unknown person.
iii)In school exam if your writing is poor, inspite of this your teacher can read your answer by giving extra effort but in board exam the checker will not give extra effort to read your answer, hence your marks will be deducted. So clear writing skill has an important role in securing good marks in board exam.
iv) In a life you will get only one board exam to make your future bright but school exam is the continuous improvement process.
So you are adviced to take board exam very seriously and sincerly.
Regard

Re: What is the difference between School and board exams?

This pattern has been adopted by CBSE. Here students have two options of choosing either home examination or board examination.

There is not much difference. Its just that in home examination the answer sheets will be corrected by the school teachers itself and in board examination the answer sheets are corrected by the teachers appointed by the board.

Rest everything is same.

Re: What is the difference between School and board exams?

Hello Friend,

Board exams are the All India Level Examinations which are conducted by CBSE (Central Board for Secondary Education) or any state board in India to grant All India percentages and test students on All India Basis.

Whereas normal schooling exams and tests are all Internal and they remain within the Schools itself.

This is the main difference between the Schools and the Board exams. Also the Board exams are asked everywhere to know how well you are academically.

Thank You!

Eligibility

School Conducted

Students of Senior Secondary Schools who do not wish to move out of the CBSE system.

Board Conducted

All the students of Secondary Schools and ii. Students of Senior Secondary Schools, if they wish to move out of the CBSE system.

Assessment

School

The assessment will be done by the school teachers of the same school.

Board

The assessment will be done by the school teachers from outside the school.

Marking Scheme

No student would suffer because of strict marking or benefit from lenient marking as the Marking Scheme for all Question Papers in all
major subjects would be provided by the Board and teachers would be
directed to adhere to the Marking Scheme in each subject. However, to
avoid any such apprehension the Board is contemplating to undertake
moderation of marks based on marks distribution of the students in the
school as well as random verification by the CBSE of the assessment done by the school.

Thanking you

Re: What is the difference between School and board exams?

Hi

A School is basically a place where children start there education and studies and gain knowledge.

When a child is born, he/she doesn't have brains to understand high level studies, so that time they go to play school where they learn things, numbers while playing.

After that they go to Classes 1, 2, 3... and so on till 12th ! So till 10th Class is the first junction where one has to give board exams and 12th is the second one which is Higher Secondary schooling.

But nobody would ever ask you about your School Internal Exams.

Hope this helps

All the best
