As per notification of Jan the age limit of WBCS increased up to 36 for A 39 for B and 40 for C& D. So what's wrong happened in advertisements recently published. Government should correct this mistake for so many hopeless aspirants.

Sir, Right now I am 33 years age and general candidate. As per the recent news in gr-A age group would be 36 from 2008 in WBCS. I am a Ph.D. holder. I wanted to know if there is any provision of age relaxation for Ph.D general candidates. Thank you

The new age limit for West Bengal civil services examination has been modified by the west bengal government the education minister of West Bengal Government Mr Partho Chatterjee, has announced in the month of January 2017 that the new upper age limit is 36 years for general candidate that means previously it was 32 years , now it has been modified to 36 years for group A age limit is up to 36 years,for group B it has been extended to 39 years and for C&D group it has been remain same to 40 years, the news has been published in the most Bengali news channel but the detail has not been published yet but this is the actual and true fact from west bengal government please follow some Bengali newspaper or you may check at the West Bengal Public Service Commission website for details news

WBCS stands for West Bengal Civil Services. This exam conduct every year for different posts.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

Candidate must complete graduation degree in any stream in any recognized university.

Final year candidates are also eligible for this exam.

Age Limit:

Age must between 21-30 years.

Age relaxation:

For OBC- 3 years

SC/ST-5 years

Selection Process:

Written Test

Medical Test

WBCS stands for West Bengal Civil Services. The WBSC commission will conduct the WBCS examination every year for recruitment of staff to various government departments of West Bengal. Candidates who have completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent course in any discipline from a Government recognised university are eligible to apply for WBCS examination.

Age Criteria :-

=> Your age should not be below 21 years and not more than 32 years as on 1st January of the year of examination for services and posts included in Group ‘A’, ’C’ and ‘D.

=> For Group 'B' service posts, your age should not be below 20 years and not more than 32 years as on 1st January of the year of examination.

=> Upper age relaxation of 3 years for OBC category candidates and 5 years for SC/ ST category candidates is applicable as per government norms to appear in WBCS examination.

There is no extension for upper age limit for WBCS exam.

WBCS stands for West Bengal Civil Service.

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

Candidate should have Indian Citizenship.

Candidate should have Indian National Certificate.

Educational Qualification:

Candidate complete the graduation degree or any equivalent course from recognised university.

Final year pursuing candidates are also eligible for this exam.

No percentage of marks required for this exam.

Age limit:

candidate minimum age limit should be above 21 years.

Candidate maximum age limit should be below 32 years.

Upper age relaxation applicable for other category candidates.

3 years upper age relaxation for OBC Candidates.

5 years upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

10 years upper age relaxation for PHD candidates.

Hello sir, Is there any possibility to extend the Upper age limit for General Category candidates from 2017? Please let me know the possibility of upper age limit extension.
