Also you must hold Class 12th passed degree with PCM group from a recognized board of education.

* Option II :- By joining CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) by clearing CDS entrance examination for which you need to be Indian citizen with your age lying within 19 years to 23 years. Also you must have bachelor degree in Mathematics or Physics or Engineering degree from a recognized board.

* Option III :- Through AFCAT ( Air force Common Admission Test ) for which you need to be an Indian candidate with your age lying within 20 years to 24 years for joining flying branch where as within 20 years to 26 years for joining Technical branch and Ground duty branch. Also for the same you need to have completed your bachelor's degree with a stream which must include either Mathematics or Physics as main subjects from a recognized university.

Re: To become an IAF Officer do I need to write any entrance exam?

You can pursue your career in Indian Air force as a pilot after graduation. There are three types of selection process held for graduates.
1. Combined Defense Service Examination (CDSE)
2. NCC (special entry)
3. SSC (short service commission)
For technical branch you should have graduate in engineering.
You can also apply for ground duty in selected branch. But if you are a girl then you can apply only by Short service commission. Boys candidate can choose between permanent service commission and short service commission.
Thanks
