I m a BDS graduate.....i worked as a ass doctor for 3 yrs and now i joined in medical coding class in chennai..... after finishing the course they will place me in a MNC company and they said,my pay ll be around 10k is it so....i heard tat v can earn more in medical coding....

Medical Coding is one of the fastest growing job fields in India. The job of Medical coder is basically to convert diseases, treatment that are in medical documents to ICD, CPT and HCPCS.

Medical Coding in India has started to grow as it has become part of multi billion dollar outsourcing industry. Several large scale hospitals in United States are outsourcing conversion aborad. India the leading destination for Medical Coding outsourcing.

Medical coding has become one of the preferred career option especially for studends of Life Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, Para Medical graduates. You can certainly pursue career in the Medical coding in India.

Apart from India there is huge demand of Medical coding professionals in Gulf nations like Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar etc. At the same time, the demand is at all time high in Australia and United States.

As far the pay is concerned, it starts with $2,000 to $40,000 per year. The figure varies from country to country, In United States you are more likely to earn on the higher side of the figure while in countries like Qatar you are likely to earn in somewhere between.

In India the starting figure is you best bet at the moment. The amount is only going to increase in the upcoming years. Since United States is hit hard by the economic recession, the jobs related to Medical coding would continue to flood to India which would keep Medical coding professionals occupied.

However if you still have doubts, why don't you visit a workshop organized by the Medical Coding Society of India. There would be several professionals from this field who would clear any doubts you have related to Medical coding.
