CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test. It is a national law entrance test which you can give for pursuing both undergraduate and postgraduate degree in law. That means for both LLB and LLM CLAT can be given. This exam is conducted by fourteen national law universities in turn. Every year any one of them takes the charge of conducting this exam.

Following are the fourteen participating Law Universities:-

  • Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow (RMLNLU)

  • Chanakya National Law University, Patna (CNLU)
  • National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi (NUALS)
  • National Law University, Orissa (NLUO)
  • National University of Study & Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL)
  • National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJA)

Eligibility Criteria:-

LLB:-

i) You need to pass higher secondary exam or its equivalent from a recognized board. Final year students can also apply for this exam.

ii) At H.S. level you need to secure minimum 50% of marks at graduation level. SC/ST/PWD Candidates you need to get minimum 45% of marks in aggregate.

iii) The upper age limit for general and OBC category candidates is 20 years and for SC/ST candidates and persons with disability the upper age limit is 22 years.

LLM:-

i) You need to have a L.B/B.L. Degree from a recognize university with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate. Even final year candidates can also apply for this exam.

ii) For the reserved category candidates there is some percentage relaxation. It is 45% of marks for the SC/ST/PWD candidates. Age is not a criteria here.

CLAT Exam LLB Pattern:-

Total Marks:- 200 marks
Total Time Duration:- Two hours
Negative Marking:- 0.25 marks

Subject Areas with weightage:-

-English including Comprehension
-General Knowledge/ Current Affairs
-Elementary Mathematics
-Legal Aptitude
-Logical Reasoning

CLAT Exam LLM Pattern:-

1. Long Essay type questions-4 questions (100 marks)
Will cover:- Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence

2. Multiple-Choice Questions -50 questions (50 marks)
Will cover:- All compulsory law subjects prescribed by the BCI for the Under-Graduate Course except Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence.

see, Paper pattern of CLAT exam is very eassy.

though it is a all India basis competitive exam. but it is not toff like IIT-JEE or AIPMT etc.

there have five section in the question

1.general knowledge.

2.general english.

3.logical reasoning.

4.political science based question.

5.economics.

CLAT 2011 Exam Pattern :

* L.L.B. Exam Pattern : It is a written test which consists of 200 questions carrying 200 marks for which 2 hours are allotted. There are questions on English including comprehension, General knowledge, Mathematics, Logical reasoning and Legal Aptitude.
* L.L.M. Exam Pattern : It is also a written test in which there are 100 objective type questions of 1 mark each and 2 essay type questions of 50 marks each. For attempting all questions, 2 hours are given. In this, questions are on Law of contract, Law of Torts, Criminal law, Constitutional Law and Legal theory.


for the admission in clat more than 1.5 lack people are appearing.

Syllabus:--

The entrance test conducted is of two hours duration. The entire examination carries 200 marks and includes essays to be written on general topics, constitutional law and Jurisprudence.


Eligibility:--

one cannot predict how many students can appear for this year exam..
so better you apply first..


How to get the entrance exam application:--

Application forms will be available from 11 January, 2011 (Tuesday). The application forms can also be collected from the participating universities and specified branches of Indian Post Offices

against a payment of

Rs 2500/- For General and OBC category candidates
Rs 2000/- For ST and SC candidates

One can also download the form from the official website of the University.Candidates downloading the form from the official

website www.clat.ac.in should pay the money during the time of submitting the form.

The paper pattern of the CLAT exam is that it consists of 200 marks as a total...

And the total number of question asked is also 200

The distribution of marks are

English including Comprehension : 40 Marks
General Knowledge/ Current Affairs : 50 Marks
Elementary Mathematics : 20 Marks (Numerical ability)
Legal Aptitude : 45 Mark
Logical Reasoning : 45 Marks

Try to give more stress on the general knowledge,it consists of maximum marks and may be reason for your selection,and it generally does not contain the negative marks....

There is nothing to worry about it.

Just go to market and ask for Arihant General Knowledge, by- Tarun goyal.

Also check out for books of "Pratyogita Darpan" or "Upkar Prakashan".

Non other then books mentioned above will be better for General Knowledge for any entrance weather Clat or IAS etc.

i know that it is very silly question but try to understand please
now the time is no more ........ so what is the best way of smart study for gk as there is no time left for hard work.........to score at least 35-40 marks
