Sir, my date of birth is 01 Jul 1973. I had completed 24 year serving in Indian Army. what is the basic calculations of age relaxation. When i applied any post rejected by online portal due to the age. Kindly clarify on the subject for my/our future.

My age at the time of retirement from service would be 40 years. Would I be eligible to appear for SSC CGL at the time of retirement as per existing eligibility criteria to apply for SSC CGL.

Staff Selection Commission.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination every year for recruitment of different post in different ministerial organisation. CGL examination is two tier written examination followed by Computer Proficiency test (CPT)/Interview.

Academic Qualification - The minimum academic qualification is graduation from a recognize University. Final year candidate may also apply.

Age Limit - The age must be between 20 to 27 years for Assistant/Sub Inspector & for Other 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation as per government rule.

For Ex-Servicemen 3 years relaxation in age is applicable as per government rule. The CGL 2016 exam date is already announced by the SSC. For any more or complete information regarding CGL examination kindly visit the official website of the SSC. - http://www.ssc.nic.in

SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination, every year for recruitment to different post, Graduate is the minimum eligibility to apply for this examination. You have to appear for two tier written examination followed by Computer Proficiency test (CPT) / Interview / Skill Test. The written examination is objective type.

Reservation is applicable for Ex-serviceman aspirants, Vacancies for Ex-S are reserved only for Group “C” posts.

GENERAL AGE LIMIT:

1. For Statistical Investigator Gr.II: Not more than 26 years.

2. For Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI: Age should between 20 - 27 years.

3. For other posts: 18 - 27 years.

AGE Relaxation Chart for EX-SERVICEMAN:

1. For Group “B” & “C” posts- (Unreserved/General ): 03 Years (after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the Closing date for receipt of application)

2. Ex-Servicemen (OBC): 06 Years (3 years + 3 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the Closing date for receipt of application.

3. Ex-Servicemen (SC & ST): 08 Years (3 years + 5 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the Closing date for receipt of application.
