WBUT IT 6th Semester Database Management Systems (IT 604) Exam - Download Previous Years Question Papers I.T. 6th semester Database Management Systems paper is basically a conceptual and mathematical paper. For this subject it is important to know the basics of SQL thoroughly. Solving previous year question papers can be helpful to pass but for scoring good marks the basics needs to be known. The total marks in this paper are 100 and the time allotted is 3hrs. These 100 marks are divided into 70 and 30 where 70 marks are for the semester exams and the rest 30 are for the internal assessment. The 70 marks is broken into 3 sections –A, B and C where A contains objective or multiple choice type questions in which 10 questions are to be attempted containing a total of 10 marks, in B 3 questions are to be answered and contains a total of 15 marks and lastly C where also 3 questions are to be attempted but these are lengthy type and this section contains a total of 45 marks. Since the total credits are 4 so this is an important paper but also a very scoring one as well. The best book for learning DBMS is Fundamentals of Database Management Systems by Navathe and Elmasri. The best books for learning SQL are Understanding SQL by Martin Gruber and Teach Yourself SQL and PL/SQL by Ivan Bayross. Below are attached some of the previous years question papers.
