IPS comes under Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

Eligibility :

- You must have completed your graduation in any stream from a recognised university.

- You must have attained age of 21 years but not more than 30 years (if you are an UR candidate) before applying the form.

- You have to fill the application form on the website of www.upsc.gov.in once it publishes the notification.

- CSE is forked into three stages i.e prelims, mains and interview.

- You have to clear 2 objective papers in prelims to qualify for mains. Then nine subjective papers each carrying 250 marks and finally personality test which will be of 275 marks.

- After clearing all these stages UPSC will produce final result on its website. You must have secured rank under 200 to be an IPS officer.

- At last you have to appear for DME (Detail Medical Examination) at the hospital allotted by UPSC.

For recruitment as an I.P.S officer you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

It is conducted once in a year and among the toughest examination ( considered as mother of all examination ).

It is conducted in three stages. You have to qualify in each stage to become eligible for next.

The required qualification :-

Educational - Bachelor degree.

Age limit - 21 -32 years.

For syllabus and detail for selection procedure you must visit official website of UPSC at www.upsc.gov.in.

IPS is conducted by UPSC a central govt. position and it's good taste to become an IPS officer.
Here am providing you the detailed procedure for becoming an IPS :

First you need to apply for the exam called as civil services. For applying for the examination candidate must go to the UPSC official website and then he need to fill in all the details required and then proceed to next stage and like wise he must complete filling the form and for reseved category and for girls since there willl not be the fees they can proceed further bu those who are general and Obc category can pay the fees online or offline by paying the challan.
Then after applying for the exam prepare seriously and refer the below books:
Indian History
Geography
Indian Polity
Indian Economy
General Science
Mental Ability
Current Affairs
as well as prepare for the C-SAT paper also by taking care of aptitude and reasoning.
If you clear preliminary exam then you get's eligibility for main's and on cracking both preliminary and mains final stage is interview .If you clear all these then you can opt for an IPS.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

IPS officers are recruited through Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

To be eligible for applying Civil Services Exam, you must have done graduation or must be in final year of graduation.

All bachelor course (like B.Tech, B.Com, BCA, B.E, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.) pursuing candidates are eligible for Civil Services exam.

To qualify exam, you need to pass three stages:
  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam
  • Personal Interview

Physical Standards required in Civil Services Exam for IPS:

Height:
  • For Males: Minimum height is 165 cm,
  • For Females: Minimum height is 150 cm.

Other than General Category Candidates, minimum required height is 160 cm for Male and 145 cm for Female Candidates.

Chest:
  • For Males: Minimum 84 cm, and should be expandable up to 5 cm
  • For Females: Minimum 79 cm, and should be expandable up to 5 cm

I.P.S is Indian Police Service and to become an I.P.S Officer you have to appear and qualify in all three stages of Civil Service examination which is conducted by UPSC.

The eligibility to appear is that :-

Candidate must have passed degree or in the final year of degree.

The age limit is 21-32 years with relaxation in upper age limit.

No limitation on discipline and aggregate of bachelor degree to appear in examination.

So, you have to prepare for examination with determination and devotion to qualify in all stages as per syllabus.

Step I: First become eligible for Civil Services examination.

Graduates with minimum age of 21 years are eligible for this examination.

Step 2: Start your preparation, focus on NCERT books, read daily newspaper, solve mock tests etc.

Step 3: Appear for exam. There are three stages of this exam.

First stage is Preliminary exam then mains exam and personal interview. You will have to clear all these stages and secure rank below 200 to get Police services.
