Re: Is Maths compulsory in 12th to appear in NATA?

NATA refers to National Aptitude Test in Architecture and it is held for offering admission in B.Arch ( Bachelor of Architecture ) degree course in private architectural colleges other than CFTIs.

The minimum education required for appearing in NATA is a higher secondary school degree with Mathematics as one of the main subjects with at least 50% marks from a recognized board of education.

So, without having Mathematics as a main subject at your Class 12th level academics you are not eligible for appearing in NATA.

For more details related to NATA, you can refer to the link .www.nata.in.

Re: Is Maths compulsory in 12th to appear in NATA?

Since you are interested in becoming an Architect then for that you need to pursue B.Arch ( Bachelor of Architecture ) degree course.

Further, for pursuing the same degree course from top government or private architecture colleges you need to qualify JEE (Joint Entrance Examination ) Paper II or NATA ( National Aptitude Test in Architecture ).

Also, for appearing in either of these examinations the minimum education required is a higher secondary school degree with Mathematics as the main subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized board of education.

So, it is evident that from above-mentioned criteria that for appearing in NATA, Mathematics is required for must at Class 12th level academics.

To appear in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) you need to be 10+2 pass in any stream. There is no as such restriction on the stream. As you said that you have Economics in high school instead of Mathematics, this is also not a matter of concern. But In the NATA entrance test there is a section of Mathematics, which comprises of 20 Questions of 40 Marks. you will have to attend that subject as you will be appearing in the entrance test. So make sure that you will be okay with that. This is the only hurdle for you.

>> NATA is conducted across the country with an aim to provide a single entrance exam for the Architecture courses for various institutes across the country.
>> This year the exam is scheduled on 29.04.2018.
>> Exam pattern: There will be two part.
PART A:
Mathematics - 20 questions - 40 marks
General Aptitude - 40 questions - 80 marks
PART B:
Drawings (Two questions) in A4 Size paper 2X 40 = 80 Marks
>> Time duration of the test would be 3 hours and the total marks will be 200.
