Re: Possibility to study regular MBA for MCom student of an Open University?

Admission in MBA will be considered on the basis of your graduation's percentage. You need atleast 50 % marks in graduation to get a seat in MBA. You can do it if You qualify any of the mentioned entrance test (such as CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ CMAT/ GMAT/ NEST ) accepted by various colleges and you should also have minimum of 45% to 55% in your bachelors(any stream) for admission in the same. Admission in MBA is done via two modes- either through an entrance exam or direct admission which is based on merit basis in last qualified exam.

Some good colleges for MBA are:IIM
XLRI- Jamshedpur
Goa Institute of Management -Goa
Lovely Professional University-Punjab
K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research - Mumbai
School of Management, D.Y. Patil University - Navi Mumbai
Maharashtra Institute of Technology Kothrud -Pune
International Management Institute - New Delhi
Management Development Institute - Gurgaon
Christ University - Bangalore

Re: Possibility to study regular MBA for MCom student of an Open University?

Yes. You are eligible to join MBA course in regular mode though you are pursuing M.Com course in Open University.

But my suggestion would be to opt for MBA course post completion of MBA course. Because if you pursue both the courses at the same time, then it would be difficult to prepare for the exams and to score well.

Not only that, if you get Semester Exams for both the courses in the same time, then you have to miss either of the Exams.

Here is the eligibility criteria to join MBA course.

One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% of marks.

Relaxation is there in percentage of marks upto 5% for the candidates of SC/ST category.

Admission would be given on the basis of performance in the Entrance Exam.

There are national level and state level Entrance Exams to join this course.

Popular Entrance Exams are
CAT
MAT
GMAT etc.

I would suggest you to have good preparation for the Entrance Exam till the time you complete your M.Com and crack it once you have done with M.Com course.
